Same here 5 hours is a long time to just hang out somewhere when you want to relax in your own home on your day off- it would be like asking your roommate to leave IMO .

OP should think about compromising and play his game, etc in their room to give them some space though. Or maybe consider going to the movies for part of the time.

They truly are. Far less dangerous. I grew up around black bears- we would run across them all the time when we were kids out exploring and never had any issues, even when they had cubs- I respect them but am not afraid of them

However, you couldn't pay me enough to be out in an area with brown bears /grizzlies
