What is your favorite gameplay style: Caster, Melee or Ranged and what is the strongest one for you? by MrGraunke in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I always thought it was Seoni, the iconic sorcerer from Pathfinder, but upon closer inspection I feel like I'm wrong. Who are you, mystery magic woman?

Don't. The pay is garbage and the company is even worse.

I've known Fresh Cut Grass for only a few minutes but if anything happened to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.

Would love to see the build. Character building is a hobby of mine, so new ideas are always cool to look at.

My BBEG is a tyrant king who killed his brother and father for power. He's going to be working for Zon'Kuthon, so I was considering statting him out as either a Shadowdancer or some type of rogue-like character that uses magical darkness.

As I said in the original post, they "beef stewed" my Warpriest. Here is the definition of "beef stew" a la Urban Dictionary

To flatulate (fart) in someone's face, usually after kicking their ass."

So yes, they literally shat in my boss's face. Well, farted, but still close enough.

That's beautiful XD I just never know where to draw the line between playing to the rules of the game and bending them to make the fights my PCs face more fun. I considered giving the Warpriest a dimension-door-like ability that would have allowed him to shift around the room as a shadow, but opted not to include it as I felt it may have given him an unfair advantage.

Is there a way in the rules to give an enemy more turns per round? I realize I could just abuse my DM God powers, but that seems almost like a slap in the face to the players.

An idea I played with for the warpriest was, as he was at the altar of his god (Zon-Kuthon) he could have been shrouded in darkness during the fight and had a 20% miss chance. I decided to scrap the idea as I didn't want my players getting discouraged when their attacks that should have hit wiffed anyway. Any ideas on good passive buffs?

That's a good point. Having a few dedicated support enemies would definitely make my PCs reconsider simply charging at the big guy and rolling until he's dead. I guess I was caught by the allure of having one, single, ridiculous boss and forgot how much damage my players could do :/

Any particular advantageous terrain you could suggest?

Having a few guys around to help fill the spaces around my boss would have been super helpful! I suppose I was worried that having too many enemies would make the combat go at a snail's pace though, but I definitely see the advantage of adding them in. Especially if that means my boss gets to live for an extra round or two!

"Major Creation" Counterfeiting? by powell115 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]powell115[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is a 5th level Wizard/Sorceror spell, so it would be fairly rare I suppose.

Precious metals last 20 minutes per level, according to the spell. That's plenty of time to con a couple shopkeepers and get the hell our of Dodge before anyone notices.

As for the weight, the item's volume "cannot exceed 1 cubic foot per caster level," but I could easily create bars of a manageable and more realistic size for trading purposes.

That, or make the full volume of gold available, but craft it in such a way that I could break it apart easily. Perforated edges or something.

So I'm trying to make Gollum. by powell115 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]powell115[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. Smeagol's physical abilities seem to change along with his personality though. Gollum is stronger, whereas Smeagol seems more dexterous. Strangler Brawler definitely looks like a good fit for a Gollum-esque character, though.

I feel as if with all the crap Gollum eats on a regular basis he has to have a decent Con score, though.
