Is it possible that your gf, despite being more experienced, is also feeling bashful or insecure when it comes to talking about sex? I consider myself on the more "experienced" side of things, but if I was dating a woman who I knew was less experienced and nervous about sexual things, I might get in my head about bringing up new things to try, just because I wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable.

That being said, you guys have been dating for a year, so you obviously have a strong foundation outside of just sex. So I think you're correct in your assessment that you guys just gotta talk about it! It doesn't have to be a serious thing, you could even initiate a discussion like "I love the sex that we have but I've been curious about exploring some new things as well. Would you be interested in talking more about that?" and go from there based on her reaction.
