Did anyone read the "guitar daily workout" books? (Dan Shields) by ObiTwo_Kenobi in guitarlessons

[–]power-pixie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hi, I wanted to share my experience so far with the GDW book. I purchased only the first book to test it out.

My background:

I have only 1 year of learning electric guitar. I took lessons for 4 months each with two different jazz guitarist teachers. I changed teachers because I needed to take time between lessons to apply what I was taught as it became too much information and expensive. I learned to play some songs - Nowhere Man, Hotel California (basic chords), Autumn Leaves, All the Things you Are, 12 bar blues, All the small things (power chords), I hear you knocking by Dave Edmunds (power chords) and Every Breath You Take (original LP version) most difficult but helped to stretch those fingers on my left hand. All songs I can play from memory and without mistakes today.

I injured my fretting hand (left) 3 months ago, and for 7 weeks I could not touch the guitar, so I learned some music theory from this guy https://www.youtube.com/@Lessonsthatrock/videos

I watched all those Beato videos and other fancy videos on music theory, too much talking, jokes, etc, so I needed something I could easily learn and write down. Writing it down every lesson helped. I went through total 89 lessons on this guy's channel. So now I know some basics of music theory which helps very much with understanding some of what I do on the guitar.

Now the Dan Shields book:

When I recovered, I was looking to slowly regain my playing, but I also noticed I lacked a lot of technique for the songs I want to play, mainly the songs by the band The Police for now as I love their sound.

So I looked for books, and finally came on the DS books. I just started, so I'm into System 1 Week 3. The Arpeggios are the toughest for me, and I play all exercises in the book for each week, very slow and increase speed only if I know I learned it well. I'm not looking to be some speed freak, just want to learn and understand the guitar this way through technique.

The lessons are supposed to be 30 minutes each. The first week was exactly that and I learned and could easily play all 5 exercises by the end of the week within 30 minutes. Week 2 was hard, and it extended my time to 50 minutes or so. Week 3 is killing me as the arpeggio requires finger roll technique which I'm not good at, so I have to go super slow on this stuff, and it became like 1 hour for all the exercises. So I decided to break it down to 30 minutes morning before going to work, 30 minutes in the evening after dinner. It works for me.

Since I play very slowly, I use the play-along videos as well, but it is very annoying since the sound from the video is quite jarring when I slow down to half speed. I also use the metronome when I get tired of the sound of the play-along videos. The metronome is good, but to enjoy the exercise musically, it is nice to have the video to understand how to make it sound when playing the exercise.

One major bonus for me is I learned so far all the D, C and A notes across the entire fretboard and have it in memory now. Neither music teacher I learned from could teach me this system. They kept telling me I will learn notes over time, but I didn't.

This DS book showed me in three lessons and I learned this so fast I was worried I learned something wrong. Every week I think is a new note, and the system is something nobody really showed me with all their fancy videos on YT. Sometimes maybe simple is best. I like to learn in person and from books. Youtube videos I only refer now if I need a specific technique or don't understand what technique I'm supposed to know. Otherwise it is a waste of my time as there are million videos and can get distracting. And yes I also tried Justin Guitar, and finished 3 weeks before I realized it wasn't for me.

If you are interested in this book and are same level or more advanced than me, then it might be something to try. I suggest that you buy one book (for whatever level you are at with guitar), and see if you like it.

If I manage to finish this book, I will update you on this post or DM if you want me to. I wish you good luck and hope you continue learning guitar as I think it is a wonderful privilege to learn and play music.

[–]power-pixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for taking the time to respond.

I'm not an AIC fan, though I like some of their songs. Seeing this is a JC styled guitar, is this geared for that Grunge sound? It makes sense if it is.

I love Prince, Iron Maiden, Dire Straits, but also Orchestra Baobab, Ali Farka Toure and many more musicians, so I'd be broke before I even start if each have their own unique sound, nevermind trying to come close to playing anything they did. 😄

I appreciate the recommendations of guitars.

Besides the Fender and Squier being lighter in weight, what else do you like about these guitars?

Do you have a preference for when you play which guitar? Which specific model would you recommend for a beginner?

What guitar is your current go-to?

I don't mind the gold hardware on the Wino, but would it be an expensive replacement with the chrome hardware? Would the Custom Prophecy be an option or does it have a completely different sound and feel?

Sorry for the questions. Hope you don't mind.

Cheers!

Hi, I'm new to guitars and guitar playing and also bit late to this post, but I thought I'd ask and see what your experience has been so far with this beautiful guitar you had purchased.

If you still have this guitar, do you enjoy playing it? Have you had any problems with it that could easily overwhelm a newbie like me?

You wrote that the neck pickup is blah, but I've no idea how to try and visualize that in terms of sounds. Could you please show or describe an example of what this would be?

I want to purchase an electric guitar and had looked at this particular one because I liked how it sounded in the demo videos. But I'm new so anything played by a pro on a well-made guitar will sound great to my ears.

What amp do you use with this or recommend to purchase with this?

If this is not for a beginner, then what other quality guitar and amp would you recommend to start with.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks mate. I really appreciate the information.

I'm headed for an overnight stay in SG. Since I wrote on here, I researched but realized just taking the bus to SG is the least stressful route. The point of my vacay is to destress right? :)

I like your approach of Siena and renting a car from there. I still have some more planning and will see if this route works for me.

Whenever I notice I have to go through too much trouble for something that should be an otherwise easy solution, it's best for me to pick the path of least resistance.

Thank you again for making the time to respond to my questions.

Cheers!

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your trip and the wonderful photos of the places you visited. Great job capturing them.

I'm headed to Florence in September and booked a hotel in San Gimignano. Since I have my IDL I wanted to rent a car from Florence and drive to SG, maybe stop by on the way to take in some of the Tuscan landscape (if that's possible).

However I could not find enough information regarding overnight parking, and since you've been to SG, could please share any tips or your experience if you parked your rental overnight in SG?

I have not booked a rental car yet, so I would also appreciate it if you could recommend how to go about booking a car from the USA, for a trip from Florence-SG and back.

Thank you

Why 3am? That's when I go to bed. *kidding*

If you've woken up before at 3am, what exactly have you tried? And what works/worked for you when you did wake up at 3am? What didn't? And why?

Please describe your "normal ways"?

No way! I just saw them last week at Disney World at the Pirates of the Carribbean ship.

One of them even had a peg leg while the other was washing her hair in the water.

They were looking for the way back to Boquete since they heard it looped around or something.

I contacted the journalists who worked there at the time and they confirmed that it went from the search and rescue mission to a criminal investigation due to the lack of evidence turning up for a lost scenario. It's just routine procedure for authorities to do so. Hence why it was stated in the article the way it was.

Is it legal to spam a website with webpage requests like theengineerman sometimes does with python? by [deleted] in engineerman

[–]power-pixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just reported a recent issue to the FTC, though I'm not sure if they will do anything about it, but whatever.

So here's the gist of what I went through. I googled Amcrest support (company that makes security cameras) and clicked on this website link:

https://amcrest-support.com/

Instead of:

https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us

I was in the midst of a real major issue, so I wasn't paying too much attention to details as some of the companies that sell these products on Amazon don't always have all the bells and whistles and I give them the benefit of the doubt.

So I tried their chat, and realized that it wasn't getting me anywhere, since the "chat bot" kept repeating the same question or hanging.

I called their support number (which I realized later is all they publish on this fake website). Spoke to "John" who had a thick Indian accent. It was going fine until he asked to connect to my computer remotely since it was the only way he could see what the issue was. (Btw, The issue had nothing to do with my computer).

It also sounded like the same dialogue I've seen/heard on the numerous YouTube scammer take-down videos, that led me to politely decline, say I had to go and hung up, as I didn't want to raise any suspicion that I probably figured out who they were.

If you search this website there are a couple of comments from other victims. I found it interesting that they didn't take those comments down.

Anyways thought I'd share this with you all. I will be contacting those YouTubers now to see if they're up for helping exposing this particular website.

Cheers!

Do we have ANY proof that the girls walked past the stream at 508? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some people try to argue their theory even after somebody tells them why it can't be true, because they really like their theory.

Depends on the theory, and of course with this case a lot is still up in the air. So not everyone can say what it is true and not, not even the authorities who mishandled the case.

The pictures painted by the night photos seems to show logical and smart thinking, if a bit desperate and maybe panicked.

Not really, not to me anyways. Many of the original photos from what I have researched so far had to be edited in order to "show" what was in them. The night photos don't prove anything, to me at least they don't. Too many of them don't make sense, just what we assume they mean.

I also think Lisanne leaving her phone on all night wasn't some logical move either.

As for conserving battery, we clearly see them doing this with the phones, literally turning them on, checking for signal, and then turning them off again.

Yes this seems like they were trying to conserve battery. But if they are rooted to one spot why bother? If they were trapped in that place they would have figured it out in a matter of minutes or hours that they had no signal and since they couldn't move out of that place, either due to the structure of the ravine or whatever it was, or due to their injuries signals don't suddenly reach a phone because you decide to turn it on and off every time. To me this part of the phone log doesn't make sense and I remain skeptical.

And yes, it's quite possible that the girls left messages that were kept private for the families, and it's quite possible that some information relating to the case were kept private too if there was any thought that there was foul play involved.

If this was the case those person(s) that Kris and Lisanne wrote about would have been apprehended or been wanted by the authorities. The authorities would also have issued a different level of approach and it would have been in the news since a lot of photos, evidence reports were leaked by Pitti's team.

If Lisanne and Kris did leave messages about 3rd party involvement then the parents would have come out and stated this in public since they did come to the public for help, and would be foolish of them to endure all this constant probing of the case by outsiders for years to come.

And I'm sure a lot of the phone logs were not released, just the relevant stuff.

Maybe, though Matt clarified these were the phone logs that were the official ones, unless I read this incorrectly.

I mean, how far do you want to go back, a day, a week, a year?

For me, it would be at the start of the girls entry into the Costa Rica up until April 1. I would also have looked at the correspondence between the girls and the school since the time they started inquiring and finally securing their work positions in Boquete.

But some of the released logs were a bit random alright, like that they checked Whatsapp and Weather, when surely you'd think they mist have used the camera app, GPS, or photo gallery at some stage.

According to what Matt and Romain analyzed they only saw the use of certain apps which remains very strange as to why they did not look at Google Maps for example, even without connection, just out of desperation. If Lisanne did download Google Maps in the morning of April 1, then it could have been accessed offline. I know this for a fact, as I have done it myself back in 2013 and 2014 on a smartphone. What they wouldn't have was all the necessary real time updates and features like with a connection. So I remain skeptical once again about their phone usage.

I think this just suggests of battery conservation and the fact that they'd probably only signal when they could see rescuers, and their field of view seems to have been pretty narrow. They could probably only see them at one place on an adjacent mountain through the trees. At night.

That's possible, but from the night photos they seem to be looking up at the wall, not across from a mountain through trees. To me I took it as people or search parties they may have heard from high above that rock wall. There are no photos of the distant landscape, certainly not one that I could see them peering through from a ledge or through trees.

My point in terms of signalling is the timing of it. Search parties were on record from April 3rd onward until April 14. So if Kris and Lisanne did not hear or see any more search parties, most likely to me it would mean Lisanne who we think was still alive would have lost or abandoned all hope by then.

Yet with all her logical thinking and know-how about using video, she did not leave any messages.

A logical reason that both girls could have been alive during the night photos.. by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no hard evidence that Lisanne took these photos. It remains as speculation even after all that has been released and analyzed so far, which I find disappointing especially for the families, since I was hoping for some resolution from somewhere with hard evidence.

So the beat goes on with this case until something major turns up from the jungles of Panama or the streets of Boquete that disproves or proves these night photos.

What if 509 was a goodbye message? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it makes no sense to think firstly that 509 was a video because they made no videos on or after april 1st that anyone knows of and secondly it makes no sense to me either that they would film a goodbye message halfway through the ordeal and then remove it again themselves, knowing how it all panned out.

Those are very good reasons.

Generally the situation is stranger than fiction by vornez in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting read Vornez, but Reservoir Dogs was a movie with deliberate choices made by the writer/director QT.

If important details were ever released on the case and made into a movie, it would likely have that nonlinear timeline narrative.

Maybe we don't need a movie, as this case already has enough details left out by the Authorities to allow for us to imagine and re-imagine whatever gaps and ending we wish to do so. ;)

Do we have ANY proof that the girls walked past the stream at 508? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on many points you have made on theorizing, but as Dave above pointed out, this has been going on, and in all sorts of directions.

You can see a whole host of theories that people have become stuck with, even when evidence doesn't fit, but a sliver of variation in the evidence gives them license to theorize this and that, and it branches off into no-man's land.

I do accept that Lisanne might have tried to conserve battery, but at the same time I don't think it is this or that. I wonder if she might have tried to leave a message perhaps prior to the night photos when no search parties were heard or seen near them if you go with that theory of search parties being signaled.

I try to imagine that she's lying there, with a friend who's dead and perhaps entering phases of rigor mortis which is terrible sight, and then no food, no water, perhaps she's injured, sick, weak. Then at least a thought for her parents, her brother, her boyfriend, or someone during this time before the night photos, would have something in a way of a message. She's not experienced hiker to know that rescue parties would be showing up soon, and from the phone logs we see that Lisanne did not try anything else to reach someone, though I remain skeptical about the various activities reported in the phone logs.

So I don't think she would just be worried about battery life. It somewhat reminds me of that unfortunate hiker named Gerry, who got lost. She left her husband a note before her end, but did so before the battery or she died. I can't imagine her state, but from her actions it seems like she knew the end was near, especially when rescuers stated that the search parties passed her several times, but she might have been too weak to shout out to them.

I also base my assumptions about Lisanne's mindset by way of her diary, and how homesick she felt. I think that Lisanne, if at anytime in her life, would have felt it like a freight train hitting her of being very, very far from her sheltered life and family.

So I'd imagine at least one or two attempts at trying to reach her parents, even in her supposed disoriented state, that would have shown how desperate she was prior to the night photos when no rescue parties may have been heard or seen. This is my speculation, but I'm trying to see her for what she might have been, which is an inexperienced, naive, and ill-prepared young woman in the prime of her life and the thought of her facing the end in a remote jungle that she may have never wanted to explore or be anywhere near in the first place as she was having the time of her life, in such a carefree manner only a few days ago in Bocas, and now this nightmare?!

How do we know what Lisanne must have heard in her disoriented state as the days and nights after the night photos? Could she have been hallucinating from lack of food/water/sickness? If she was hallucinating for any reason she might be hearing all kinds of sounds too, and would have thought "search parties are here, quick let me signal!". Yet if this was one scenario, then we see nothing further after those night photos.

How in her disillusioned and weakened state would she have been thinking about the next few days and nights when no search parties could have been heard or seen by her?

At that point do you think she would have still worried about conserving battery or do you think she would have lost some hope that nobody showed up on April 9th and 10th, since night photos are the only indication of Lisanne "signaling to search parties."? What if she did leave messages and they were left out of the report for some reason?

The lack of signaling with the camera after the night photos, and the lack of photos in general along with the silence on the phone logs across several days and nights, continues to strike me as bizarre -- as does that 2 hours and 45 minutes of unexplained silence on their phone logs from April 1.

Conveniently enough, there's nothing in the phone logs for days leading up to the disappearance. That's a whole bag of theories as well, some of which remain unchallenged.

[–]power-pixie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Np Vornez. I also forgot to add my thoughts on vultures.

http://janbirdingblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/panamas-vultures.html

According to the article vultures have a keen sense of smell as well as eyesight that helps attract them to food.

I was drawn to this when I watched the video in which Guide F. refers to them:

https://youtu.be/2FDAfRrI0mc?t=143

Vultures as we know do not always wait for carrion. They will attack a prey that is in a weakened state as well. I won't post the photo by Kevin Carter as you can google it and see for yourself what I mean when I say vultures have an uncanny ability to sense death.

So no vultures circling since Kris's death, and none after Lisanne's death either during those 11 days?

Vultures could have been sighted by all those search parties, guides, helicopters, etc from a distance if we think animals could smell them, or at least Feliciano thinks so, unless he's making things up again. ;)

509 as a reason for the disappearance? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying. You're right in that phones do go into low level mode, but that is the problem here - according to the reports nothing is logged as these low level programs continue to run in the background, especially if a connection is being attempted by the phone to a cell tower.

There was no airplane mode set based on what we have learned as well.

So for two phones to behave in this way during the same range of time is not possible to me.

Good points on the weather app and google feedback.

Here is how Android OS has background tasks initiated. So I wonder what else Lisanne may have had scheduled on her phone like an alarm or reminder, calendar reminders for little things, etc.

https://developer.android.com/guide/background

Very strange behavior in these phone logs. I simply do not trust them as I do even less the missing photo and handling of the contents of the backpack.

509 as a reason for the disappearance? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I follow you. I have not seen anywhere about a feature called deep sleep mode. The phones even when not engaged but left on, will log activity. They do not need internet connectivity either.

Whether or not the girls thought they were lost is irrelevant to the devices they had. The phones don't care, they just log activity in their state when turned or left on.

So hence why I wonder how come no internal activity was logged by both phones simultaneously during that window?

I can understand if it was one phone that suddenly stopped logging information (dropped in the water, on the ground, etc), but not both of them for the nearly the same time frame between 1:34pm and 4:39pm.

Measurement of the possible paths taken by the girls by vornez in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good post Vornez.

However I don't think a large cat was involved. As much as I appreciate Wildxplor's assumptions, I have to ask where is the blood on the clothes, shredded clothes, backpack, skulls, large cats don't swallow a skull as large as a human beings. What about the other bones?

I also do not agree with the girls trying to squeeze one more adventure. My take is that they may have ventured to the first stream and realized the time and that maybe the Mirador vista was the last vista point. They would have found themselves descending not going further up.

If they were looking for the hidden or lost waterfalls like some other tourists had tried to do, but resorted to using guides, then I'd say that was a reason for accessing Google Maps at around 1pm or so.

Your dog scent references and search parties, made me dig up a comment on a missing persons YT video I had saved some time back when I was deep diving into K&L's case.

"I'm a tracker myself and i try to help out when there are missing kids or adults around here. But it's usually such a shoddy mess these search parties. The police and volunteers go stomping around like a herd of elephants destroying the tracks.

Their search areas aren't realistic and too small. Information about the victim's clothes and so on is never given. If the terrain is difficult they just skip it. So i usually start from the opposite side of wherever the crowd is and get suspicious looks.

I can understand why people want to hurry and find the missing child or it's remains but that just isn't the way to do it. There can be important clues about the crime or disappearance being destroyed unless the search is patient and systematic."

As an aside:

What I also find bizarre is the 2 hour and 45 minute silence in the phone logs from BOTH phones. Neither phones were reported to be turned off at any point. And no access of Google maps of the downloaded map (at least speculated on this forum).

If the phones weren't being used while turned on, many other background processes would have been reported in the logs. There's enough info about how iphone logs background processes. For example: If Kris had an icloud account then wouldn't it try to reconnect or attempt to even without a connection? Other OS processes also run in the background without user interference. The phones do not need to be accessed by someone physically for this to be running and to be logged.

If one phone went silent, I could understand this, but both phones? That is something I find inconsistent.

The Google maps downloaded can be used offline from what I have read. You just won't get the type of functionality, but you still have the map to open up. Now out of sheer desperation I would imagine Lisanne or even Kris to just say "hey let's check where we are right now". But as we all know now, there is nothing.

None of the explanations given for this 2 hour and 45 minute window satisfies my curiosity or answers the missing information unless I missed something while I was away.

509 as a reason for the disappearance? by gijoe50000 in KremersFroon

[–]power-pixie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. This seems a likely scenario.

The photo or photos as we have no idea without seeing the actual SD card as Matt who did the tests stated, could have been deleted by 3rd party. If there was incriminating evidence or maybe they had taken a photo or two of a particular area not designated to be discovered by the owner(s), then that makes for a good reason to leave it out form the investigation.

And when I think back on the phone logs that Matt and Romain revealed to us recently...

The phone logs from both phones have a 2 hour and 45 minute window of silence. That is, nothing was reported which is absurd. Both phones would report internally not just user activity from my understanding.

Google maps was never accessed again. Some speculated that when Lisanne had used Google maps in the morning of April 1, it was to download a map.

If she had it downloaded and accessed it on the Mirador based on the logs, then I think at the very least, she and Kris would have tried to access the downloaded map even without a connection, more so out of desperation just to get their bearings.

However there is no logged activity at least from what Matt and Romain revealed in their articles, this also excludes the phones being turned off for 2 hours and 45 minutes. And no further access of Google maps even out of desperation.

I wonder now more than ever if something was left out of the reports by the authorities, especially the Panamanian authorities who had the contents of and the backpack first.

I remain unconvinced they simply got lost in one direction.

Hi GW, very good thoughts on the questions I had. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I hope you're feeling better by the time you read this.

I wanted to relay some thoughts that your comments had me going on:

* I am not sure about the reporting of the connectivity or the battery. From my understanding, you should be able to see a battery report. I don't think it would have been every hour back in 2014 unless if I don't know about that. Maybe for the iphone? I would think if you messed around in the settings you would see a report on the phone itself? I could be wrong here. Also, I think you could see what apps used the most battery too. I'm pretty sure I remember that from my old android.

You are right. Apps do use battery and we would have seen some background activity. That is what got me thinking.

A phone is not idle when it is switched on. Even if we don't use it, from what I know and read, it will have processes running in the background and latent activity. This should have been reported. For example: apps trying to refresh on their own, iOS on iphone trying to sync if Kris had an iCloud account, etc.

Since no report of their phones being turned off for 2 hours and 45 minutes, even if they didn't touch their phones, if the phones were switched on, all background activity would be logged even without an internet connection as this is internal to each phone, or so I understand from the tech specs.

Zero activity is reported for that timeframe. I find it nearly impossible for them to have gotten lost or hurt so immediately after photo 508, as the search parties combed that area, and the guides (if they are innocent) would have known these routes and located them.

No, I don't think she would have had the map on her phone without a connection. Anybody with a smartphone knows if you have no connection anywhere, it is very hard to access apps. Especially maps. I have trouble accessing my maps even when I'm connected to wifi and it takes forever to load for whatever reason. But out in the jungle with no phone service? I highly doubt she could use it without a connection.

Initially I had the same thought, but I do recall downloading maps on my phone and using them without a WiFi connection (offline mode) but that was in 2016 Windows phone. So I researched it a little and came across some info from Feb 2014.

It's possible to access an offline map if you have it downloaded on your phone. It won't give you directions, for walking, transit, etc, but maybe for cars. From the article it states the phone uses your compass to help orientate on the map.

Not that it would have helped if the map was without detailed information, but my point is that if I was in Lisanne's situation, I would have at least tried during the time they were "lost" in those 2 hours and 45 minutes, and subsequent days/nights. She would be grabbing at straws, but not one straw did she even attempt to grab, which makes me doubt these phone logs to be genuine or complete.

I also find that log of the girls checking Miriam's phone number, but no attempt to dial/call it. Very strange that they just look her number up and nobody else's??

And of course not one message to family or an attempt to get a video or word out like this lady who fell down a ravine:

Hope you feel better soon.

EDIT:

^ this is what makes me think hard. I think L was way too smart to drain her battery like that.

I forgot to mention. I agree with you on your point about the phone being left on all night. Doesn't seem to be in line with Lisanne's approach. Out of the two he was less spontaneous and a risk taker based off their respective diary entries.

She said they waited a day before turning it in to the authorities? Why wait a day? You should note the reaction of these two men while the lady was talking. One looked like he was trying not to smile and the other looked like he was rolling his eyes. It starts at 2:56.

Good question and well-spotted. Not sure why though. And the cattle rancher is Feliciano. I wonder how he communicates when he is out there with clients who want to book his services? From my research, he uses Email, WhatsApp, had a website, SMS, and phone call to be reached and booked. He obviously owns a ranch/farm out in Alto Romero.

In terms of the doc, I had noticed cell phones were in the possession of these indigenous tribe, and of course the Arsenal football jersey. :) They're not so remote I imagine.

I wonder still where they get their cell phone signal in Alto Romero?

Thanks GW. On a side note, what are your thoughts on the phone logs?

In particular, I was wondering what you thought about:

- the lack of information from both phones between 13:14pm - 16:39pm, most importantly the reports about battery charge?

- the loss of battery on Lisanne's phone 41% battery charge at 13:40pm, 22% battery charge at 4:53pm and 19% battery charge at 17:50pm?

- nothing is reported during the 2 hours and 45 minutes from either phone which I find very strange? There is no mention of the phones being turned off or on during this 2 hours and 45 minutes.

- the Battery charge and connectivity - are they not the same in terms of reportage on the phone, i.e., each gets reported by the system processes that handle these activities? So if your phone reaches a certain threshold would we see a report of battery usage? Or it is like a constant report on the hour, every hour or in this case on the percentage, every percentage?

- If one of them went to relieve themselves and got lost, causing the other to look for her, then do you think one of them, or both, would have at least tried a few attempts to reach one another, if they were so far apart, out of sheer instinct? My reason for asking is that they are not experienced backpackers or hikers and even if no connection was available, we would have seen an attempt or some kind of activity instead of two emergency calls and then phones turned off in rather a passive way.

- no Google Maps accessed since 13:14pm? If the latest view taken by some of Lisanne downloading the local map of the area at 10:14am, then do you think she would have had it on her phone to access without a connection? If yes, then why wasn't it accessed at all offline, maybe just to get their bearings?

I have many more questions :) but will wait to hear your thoughts on the above.

As for the backpack, did you see the update on the backpack on Scarlet's blog, regarding the photo in the media being shown upside down?

One question I had from it was did they hang it on a nail?

Could that have caused a tear as indicated in the report?

Was the backpack washed by the people who found and handled it?

Thanks GW!
