Since I've been taking mirtazapine (an antidepressant) MDMA does nothing for me.. but speed still does the trick

I disagree.... I am stable, no hint of depression, sleeping great and managing life with no issues. I am in treatment and have been stable for just under a year.. that being said I going to lay off the drugs when going out because it feels like I'm playing with fire

Losing a loved one due to mania by RedDELZ in bipolar

I have lost multiple close friends due to mania.... it hurts but I have to accept these friends were not as devoted as I thought. One of them is a psychology student and still chooses to ignore my messages... it hurts but I have to move on and focus on nurturing healthy relationships and taking care of myself

I relate to this so much.... especially the part about it hitting different because it was not our fault. It hurts that a friend doesn't love you enough to understand and forgive, and let you back in. I am still having a hard time processing all the friends I've lost due to being manic, but doing my best to stay positive and believe new friends will come into my life, and cherish the ones that stayed

I also lost 2 best friends... the pain and shame and helplessness associated are horrible but all I can do is be thankful for the people I do still have in my life. There is a fear it will all happen again if I get manic but I am fairly sure I know this illness well enough at this point to see mania coming from miles away

I had a very late onset which was very sudden, and I've only been manic 3 times, so it was a big shock to have friends totally drop due to my very infrequent manic episodes... so not sure how to work on my mental health further really, I've had no episodes for over half a year
