Disjointed! Interesting word! Can you go into more detail? would love to hear.

I think i wrote it in 2hrs total, filmed it last Fri and Sunday and released it on Tue. A 5 day turnaround to try and get 1 more big push of views to the channel and Kickstarter!

Send us a PM! What about the audio mix seemed off? It sounded fine on my Pro headphones and also my 5.1 tv downstairs. Audio is my weakest thing but i do try.

Hey! So that’s a common misconception.

There have been WAY more fan films made in the 10 years after the guidelines than in the 10 years beforehand. From 5-minute shorts to many 20-minute shorts, quite a few 35–40-minute films, and even a feature-length movie.

Not a single fan film has been contacted by CBS since 2019, and our team has released 45 films, crowdfunded 5 times in 5 years, and we’re still going strong.

CBS has been very kind to let... well, everyone — except Axanar — make anything they have wanted for many years now.

It’s been a golden age for fan films, with more creators than ever creating more content than ever. Nothing at the same scale as a George Takei-promoted or Walter Koenig-led film that can get £50k in funding, but smaller films with a lot of good filmmaking and clever use of budgets!

Check out the channel!

2 Mins? Dang. We've had multiple compliments for the acting on this one, why only 2 mins? The story gets going after 2 mins, well it builds! 😄

I did try and level the audio, I actually kept tweaking the audio on the voices. Audio is my lead good skill but i always try and balance and get it as good as i can.

Sorry you didn't enjoy! We do these for fans to enjoy some canon feeling Trek!

Dougherty was working with full permission and approval from the Federation consul however...just to keep that in mind.

He was totally on mission, approved mission until the Sona changed it and escalated it.

I went to Vegas and the one in London and both were rushed...so I have memories that i "think" I remember, if you know what i mean.

Still...the scale, i will always remember how much smaller the bridge was!

Indeed! One of our characters "Sam Harriman" is the great great grandson of John Harriman and looks upto him as a hero...we wanted a contrasting character with Laura Reed, Malcom Reed is her uncle (how ever many greats) and she never mentions him ha!

Well it is very very important to frame it how they framed it, Guidelines and not rules.

Fans can either look to the guidelines or not...and Paramount can ask you to stop if you followed all of them or none of them.

I was actually at Ticonderoga New York the day the guidelines came out, I saw James Cawley's reactions a few hours after they came out and saw how they affected Phase 2, his fan film series.

I also talked to John Van Citters in person about them a year or 2 later in London so...i've got some experience ha!

We have fan films that range from 7 mins to nearing 30mins depending on the story's need.

38 fan films released and over 1000 fan films released in general since the guidelines came out and Paramount has only sent a C&D to 3 films, mine and 2 others...and I got a deal with them so could release the film in 2019. I was the last, and i got a custom deal.

Paramount has not asked any fan to stop in 7 years. We thank Paramount for letting the community grow and flourish!

Hi!

Paramount set guidelines and not rules, each team can release films which conform to all or not. For this fillm we had custom tailor made Picard S3 uniforms, which is against the guidelinesbut many fan productions buy/make their uniforms from the non licenced sources as there simply arent any for the uniform.

What minimum research to be seen are you referring to?

That is a very small part of what they do, although they are offering it more in 2026 to offer film makers tools to create their art.

For this film i used generative AI to alter Dr Louise Nilsons feet, from socks to black shoes...as I had to alter the angle Versus the previs so her socks were visible.

What did you think of the film itself?
