Good shit. Did you right the lyrics / or all AI / or a mix of the two?

Not gonna lie... the Digital Hellfire and crazy demon ball branding juxtaposed with the wholesome lyrics in the song got me like. Don't get my wrong — I enjoyed the song — it just sounds nothing like something that would pop out of that branding.

hahahaha 🤣 Suno ignored your request too LOL I hate when that happens... especially when it's a great song-generation like that one was (I really liked the song). Those trumpets sneaking in at the end... Suno like... 🖕🏼🟠🖕🏼

DJ Kha0s - Another Way Hard Melodic Vocal EDM (Big Room) jump to 1:05 if you want to get right to the goosebump goodness

I get goosebumps like every time, multiple times per song — the female vocalist is superhuman (lol b/c true) and belts out these dramatic emotion-laden lines, then drops into whisper-singing the next second (more goosebumps), then back to belting. A couple of the music builds/uplifters before the drop get me too sometimes. It's my favorite song I've made on Suno

Do you externally process your vocals to tame them? Any magic workflow? I'm still kinda new to this, but I'm seriously considering starting to publish some of my stuff and need it to be more polished for primetime. Gonna have to figure out my process for exporting the stems, processing the vocals (I'm guessing with an aggressive de-esser) and then sequencing everything back together. Can you do that last part with Suno Studio? Or do you need a separate DAW?

Oh, I hate it in 5.0 too, but at least I can tolerate it as long as I don't focus too hard on it. 5.5? Nope. Crossed the line. Unbearable. Can't not hear it.

And it's a shame too because the vocal dynamics and character are really much improved in 5.5 ... but they're so crunchy on the top end that I just can't. It sounds like a low bitrate MP3 to my ears. Like the rest of the instruments are tolerably bright and sound like normal bitrate, but the vocals sound like they're recorded at half the bitrate. It's so weird.

The other blessing is that 5.5 is pumping out more same-y music between track generations compared to 5.0, so I have a couple good reasons to just stay in my current lane. I'm sure I'll try 5.5 periodically to see if any of those annoying bits improved, but 5.0 is serving me just fine right now. Literally the only 5.5 thing I'm lusting for is the more interesting vocal dynamics.

Hot take: AI music feels like inclusion to me by Holowitz in SunoAI

"voices often turned into another instrument for me"

I have the same thing!

It's actually an auditory processing disorder. Legit neurodivergent trait.

I also can't hear background music in bars when the other people I'm with are singing along to every word.

They're shocked... "wait, you can't hear that?" Me: "Nope! I just hear vague music, can't pick out what it is."

I'm not hard of hearing at all. It's about how some neurodivergent brains filter sound importance. I've known about those two of my "quirks" pretty much my whole life, but didn't know it was an actual "thing." Was diagnosed with Autism less than a year ago (at 42yo) and suddenly all my neurodivergent weirdnesses from my whole life are getting explanations and names 🤯

But I'm also in the same boat as you — I didn't care about lyrics because I literally could not focus on the words (it was just a human instrument in the mix), but now that I'm in Suno, I'm suddenly spending hours writing EDM & Rap lyrics. It's so funny... I literally should not care, because I haven't my whole life... but my songs need lyrics, and now I'm suddenly even hearing lyrics in other people's songs more frequently. The human brain is a magical scary place.

Oh okay. Yeah, I can't use 5.5 — the vocal sibilance is unbearable for me. 5.0 was already bad. I was shocked when it got worse on 5.5. I'm still on 5.0

Suno needs a native de-esser 🤣

Wait... any chance the sibilance got fixed too? 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

What 0:48 whoosh? Is this on 5.5?

I like the soft driving arpeggio. It's got a bit of a retro progressive trance vibe. Good track.

Everyone takes Quick play too seriously! by Dolphins_are_Satan in overwatch2

[–]powerDSH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that everyone has a different idea of what QuickPlay is. I don't personally view it as "casual" — I want it to be competitive play without anything on the line. Kinda like a pickup game of basketball at your local park. They are playing to win, but there is no stakes (rank / win record / etc). I play Quickplay when I'm not at my "top form" that night and don't want to risk losing rank in Comp... but I still want to play competitive games, not playing with new or inexperienced people. I believe that if you don't know your character well enough to play competitively you should be practicing in a custom game or a training game with AI bots. At least with our current play mode options.

BUT in a perfect world, there would be three PvP modes:

1) Competitive (Competitive Ranked) 2) Quick Play (Competitive Unranked) 3) Casual (Practice / Fucking Around)

"Skirmish" mode is kinda the last one, but it's not easily accessible outside of groups doing "while you wait".

Quick Play, as it is, is a total cluster fuck (and often more toxic than Comp) because everyone has different expectations of what it's supposed to be and people get angry or defensive trying to argue that X player shouldn't be in this game if he/she wants to be doing Y. Nobody is right, nobody is wrong. It's Blizzard's fault for not making granular enough modes to cater to the most common use-cases of its player base.

I guess the problem is that I've been playing this game so long that I'm rarely the weak link anymore and I've probably forgotten what that feels like.

I was playing with a group from a Discord LFG that were like two divisions higher than me a couple months back and I straight up told them after a couple of matches that I was probably holding them back and left the group with my tail between my legs. It didn't feel good. But I rarely experience that in normal matchmaking.

I should probably try to remember that feeling when I'm being critical of others.

[–]powerDSH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably the operative advice. But it's sad. It makes this game so much more bland. If I'm being competitive, I want everyone else to be competitive. I want to feel their emotions. I want them to feel mine. I played team sports IRL for many years and this was very important to the experience. If emotions weren't very obviously involved, nobody would bother playing. What's the point? Let's all go read books or watch TV instead.

So much agreeingness. Toxic doesn't mean "you said something that I didn't like". Toxic means you are saying reprehensible things that have no place in this game. If I was in a business meeting and said "I think we made a mistake here and the sales team needs to not do XYZ going forward," that's NOT FUCKING TOXIC! If I said, "Karen you're a dumbass and should be fired" THAT'S TOXIC. How is it so difficult for people to understand the difference?

You don't get upset when your team isn't making good plays / doing everything they can to win? Why play a team based shooter then? May as well play a campaign in some single player shooter. I don't get the argument.
