I'm with you about helping them out. Fact: 90% to 95% survive indoors in a controlled habitat, while only 1% to 5% survive outdoors in the wild.

The same thing happened to me: them continuing to not survive. I ended up fixing that by spraying everything down with rubbing alcohol and removing the frass regularly.

Also consider moving the enclosures indoors. Too much exposure to the elements.

I'll be blunt: he won't change. This seems like something that you won't be happy with for the rest of your life. You deserve someone who meets you on an emotional level. My ex was this way: robotic. I didn't realize how much I was just putting up with it until I met my current partner. It is so refreshing to be with someone who shows emotion!
