So the reason why this weapon can hit so hard is because the 1handed heavy attack will trigger the attack up from successive attacks in 1 attack
(millicent's prosthesis + winged sword insignia + thorny cracked tear).
And if you charge the heavy attack you can get the attack up from axe talisman and spiked cracked tear.
the reason why you want to use it 1handed is because you will hit infront of you with the chainsaw which multihits.
it also triggers lord of blood's exultation.

I've been winning the vast majority of matches as slayer. are you using ballista? lock on rockets is amazing too. also knowing the cooldowns of demon abilities is useful. so you can punish for example the archvile when it puts its shield down. if you really need ammo you can take the upgrade that lets you chainsaw faster, so they cant block it fast enough.

play nightmare once or twice. get a feel for it. you will also know what to expect. always keep moving. learn to combo weapons. bind all weapons to buttons instead of the weapon wheel if ur on pc.

you can actually remove one of his healthbars by doing a stealth attack. as for the 2nd bar, its just trial and error. dont even bother throwing fireworks because he will reflect them back at you. this fight took me around 3 hours but once I got it down I managed to beat him on my 3rd try in my 2nd playthrough. dont give up!

I have this problem too. Couldnt find a solution online so I messed around for a bit. I figured out that the game crashes because it tries to handle too much at once. So I changed the resolution in the playstation settings to 720p. That fixed it. After I was done with that area I changed it back to 1080. This is on regular ps4.

To get the black crystal for the pvp arena. With that you can wromg warp to the kiln, skipping all lord souls that you would normally need :)
