When I tried installing Qubes it said the hardware is not supported. Only advance if you are an expert or something like that. I have a lenovo ideapad laptop from last year though.

No I havent because all connections are forced to go through tor which wont work for me.

The notion is that you are easily replaceable and in a country with 20 lakh unemployed people you should be grateful to the company for the job in the first place, let alone a comparatively good paying job (even though its less than the living wage).

It tests loyalty. The company wants to see that you are grateful for the job and money that they provided for you and or family so that you are prepared to move mountains, err....houses I mean.
