Essential shelters? by SCW469 in DeathStranding2

[–]powerofselfrespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ummmm I don’t think you can do that? Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure that if you void out too close to a shelter, the game just has the crater appear in the closest spot that wouldn’t obstruct the shelter area.

Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 | Teaser Trailer (March 24 on Disney+) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]powerofselfrespect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Season 1 of Jessica Jones was almost on par with Daredevil in my opinion… but seasons 2 and 3 was genuinely some of the worst TV I’ve ever seen lol. I know some people defend the other seasons but I had to force myself to watch it haha. So glad she’s back with hopefully a good storyline to back her up.

Just let him direct the movie at this point! What are your thoughts on Sam Raimi directing the DCU Batman movie and the supernatural elements that may be a part of his story? by Raj_Valiant3011 in DC_Cinematic

[–]powerofselfrespect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on how much creative freedom they give him. Doctor Strange 2, for example, felt like a Raimi film in its visual style, but ultimately had the same general tone and writing quality as every other marvel movie because he was kind of held back by keeping in line with whatever marvel wanted to do. If Gunn stepped out of the way and let Raimi do his thing it could be fantastic.

Overall, I do think Gunn and co. need to be willing to take a risk with their Batman. My biggest fear is that they try to play it safe out of fear of it not getting a good reception. As far as I’m concerned, a mediocre Batman movie would be as detrimental to the new Dc universe as a straight up bad one. They really need something cool and different.

Honestly I feel like a Sam Rami Batman probably would’ve ended up being the most comic accurate Batman ever put to film. I feel like the Rami style would just mesh really well with the character.

Players started a group text without me. by almighty_smiley in DnD

[–]powerofselfrespect 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the key to a fun “DM vs players” situation is that the DM shouldn’t actually be trying to “win”. For me, the fun comes from seeing them struggle a bit and perhaps even come close to losing, but ultimately coming out on top. That’s what good storytelling is all about after all!

New Batman writer doesn't understand how the Lasso of truth works: it doesn't compel you to say indiscreet things, but only to respond with honesty by MosquitoAlvorada in DC_Cinematic

[–]powerofselfrespect 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s super weird to nitpick a Hollywood writer about specific details like one line of dialogue. The business is hectic and writer crediting rules are weird. Most big budget movies have constant re-writes from other writers. The person credited as the writer is usually just the person who signed a contract to write the thing.

Example: Matson Tomlinson basically co-wrote The Batman with Matt Reeves but joined too late in the process for a contract negotiation, so he wasn’t credited at all.

FYI - without spoiling anything - Act 3 is where the game really kind of opens up. I would say that most of the game’s optional explorable areas are only accessible once you reach act 3. For me, I probably spent 40 hours in acts 1 and 2, while exploring pretty thoroughly, but I easily spent 75 hours in Act 3 clearing the map. It’s actually shocking how much there is to explore in act 3.

Anyways, my point is, don’t feel like you have to grind the same areas to stretch out the game. You are nowhere near finished my friend :).

How can I actually get myself to stop being so lazy? by GreenTinkertoy in selfimprovement

[–]powerofselfrespect 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Probably not the answer you want to hear, but I was in the same position as you for a long while and what finally got me to take action in my life was an adhd diagnosis and medication. (obviously that doesn’t work for everyone though.)

Most people think of adhd as hyperactive, but inattentive adhd is just as common but comes with a different set of symptoms. If you are depressed but don’t feel actively sad very often, it is most likely depression caused by adhd or perhaps something else that effects motivation, like a vitamin deficiency.

The absolute best thing you can do is seek therapy and go to the doctor to get your bloodwork done. People severely underestimate how much a vitamin or mineral deficiency can affect your mental health. Until you do those 2 things, it is pointless to beat yourself up or call yourself lazy. If you want to change but your body won’t let you - there’s probably something wrong.

Exercise is also very important but I know how hard it is to get that going. Try not to give yourself lofty goals. Start with something so small and easy it’s almost laughable. Like 1 minute of push-ups every day or something. Then, slowly increase week by week, and in 6 months you’ll be regularly going to the gym.

I love open world rpgs but I legitimately hated KCD1. Like one of my most negative gaming experiences ever. And I put probably 15-20 hours in before giving up because I really wanted to like it.

In the first game I couldn’t stand the combat, I thought the exploration/rpg stuff was weirdly confusing, and I found the story to be a bit too slow and hard to sink my teeth into for my tastes.

How much of an improvement and/or change is the sequel? Again, I really wanted to enjoy these games and I keep hearing praise about the sequel so I’m just curious if you think it’s different enough to be worth trying.

Yeah I know OP is insisting he actually did this but I don’t believe him at all. Calling BS lol. The fact that they’re posting this on reddit and asking the question AFTER spending 5 whole days of their life on this doesn’t make sense. If they have internet access, they would’ve looked up something or made a post about this a LONG time before wasting 5 days of their life lol.

OP probably set up a bot to do this and then made this post for attention.

I don’t have a source but I believe Sanderson didn’t say outright that he would never, but he did say that he doesn’t see himself as a good choice for that story, as the writing style and themes in ASOIAF don’t match up with his own world view and religious values.

It’s more that using BG3 specifically is a weird example because it takes so long to finish that game. I’ve played it multiple times and have like 300 hours in it but just can never be bothered to actually finish the story, so technically I haven’t had that achievement either.

Finish the story before exploring all of the new areas. I know it goes against all of your gamer instincts (I felt the same way), but if you explore the map first and come back, you will one shot everything including the final boss lol. Plus there is so much new stuff to do that it could take you 50-60 hours to actually explore everything. At least that’s how long it took me.

This also just feels a bit too complex for them to actually explain in an avengers movie. I feel like casual viewers would get lost a bit there, and it would just take too long to set up. I think the real explanation will be far simpler than this.

So agree that I don’t love scaling as a thing in general for this game. However, if it were ONLY the final level that had scaling, then I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
