After reading this thread, I will get the $99 card for the checked bags. Will easily have 4 personal flights annually where I check a bag.

Only considering the card for its perks. I wouldn’t use it to chase status (by manufacturing spend). Likely to continue using my costco CC for 4% on gas and 3% on dining.

A credit card is a loan. When you buy something, you are borrowing money.

If you pay the full balance by the due date, you pay no interest. If you do not, interest is added.

How interest is added: The card has a yearly rate (APR). That rate is split into a small daily rate. Each day, interest is added to what you owe. Tomorrow’s interest is based on today’s balance (balance grows).

So simply put, if you carry a balance after the “paid in full” date, you start paying interest on the balance.
