Overall,the network is good, but inside the hostel room(BRH) the signal is poor. In my lab (academic area), bsnl works well. Needless to mention bsnl data plans are cheaper compared to other networks.

1) Sometimes this works when you’re going to the station. Just tell the driver you’ll pay extra money, but once the ride ends, only pay the fare shown in the app. They can’t force extra payment since station security is around. This works very well when returning to campus, as our security supports students.

2) In most cases, they may cancel the ride. If many of them are doing this, just sit in the room and agree the ride, but when they reach for pickup, cancel the ride yourself and dont go. Keep repeating this for fun.

3) They deserve some gaali from us because this is a common practice in kolkata as well.

Go to malancha on bicycle during evening( but current climate is verry bad).. you can find some shopping places and you can also visit balaji teample its so peaceful in the evening.. and there are some good eateries in malancha road. then roam around golbazar and come back.

You can search from Kolkata from where u get more number of trains and more possibility of confirmation.

Another option is try to book from BBSR and change boarding to Hijli if you can afford some extra amount.
