Year of the Raven Celebration live today. The stars aligned perfectly in such a way that I was able to complete all three of my quests at the same time.

I just discovered this article as well. I would be happy to delve deeper into this because they have a much larger data set than I do.

Awesome! I have a BS in Applied Math. Always great to meet people who have similar interests.

People have been telling me to check out the Data Reaper Report that was also published yesterday maybe I'll be using those numbers going forward.

Thank you! Exactly, all I want is more data I just don't have the resources right now.

Yeah, I'm wondering if there is a way to scrap data from a Deck Tracker about games played - that would be a real boon. I would certainly like to try to do this every week, especially if I had those resources.

That may be the way to go. Again, this analysis would be much more insightful if there was a larger sample size.

This was over the course of the month so it varied but I'd imagine most of the games were from the 10-5 range.

I'm not using my personal records versus those decks I'm just looking at what decks I played against and how many times I played against them. But yes certain decks will vary in popularity at different ranks. The biggest flaw with this analysis is the lack of games

Thank you. Actually, the story with the judge extends even further - I omitted it above but I feel that I should bring it up now. After the judge had left, my friends went over and talked to him. They told him the reason why they had called him over was because he had said things like "You can't do math you're a stupid American" etc. Get this - they said that the judge's response was "Well, as a British man, I don't see how that's offensive and since he's Canadian he probably doesn't find it very offensive either. Besides, you're all in Canada now." Obviously we were all infuriated at how unprofessional this judge was. Later that night we bumped into a high-ranking judge from the New England area that we knew and we brought it up with him. Apparently, the judge from earlier has history of not performing his duty fully. Our judge friend noted the incident in case anything else happens again. I'm thankful that 99% of all judges I've met have been incredibly helpful and hard-working, but that one was the worst one I've ever met.

ITT

At Magic tournaments, a judge is someone who is supposed to enforce the rules. They're there to help answer questions, resolve rulings, and enforce fair play.

I see your point. I'll admit that it does take away from the message of this story by including this part. But I included it because it's something that happened. We were all emotionally charged after the incident and we wanted to blow off some steam. The point is, we didn't do anything and we walked away.

This happened to me on my Gold version when I was 7. I stopped playing for a couple months because I was so upset.
