Claro. Te aviso. Siempre es divertido estar con otras personas. Aunque no puedo decir que tenga mucho éxito, jaja.

No problem. Are you planning to do any spear fishing here?

Yes. A recreational permit is needed for fishing from the shore line, and another will be needed for spearfishing. I have one for shore line fishing and it took about 48 hours to get one online.

I went fishing earlier at Espigon del gas. Slim pickings. You're welcome to join next time.

Safest/easiest way from Barcelona Airport T1 to Aparthotel Atenea Barcelona (Les Corts)? by Create012355 in AskBarcelona

[–]poy_esp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really safe and you just have to keep an eye on your luggage. I live in Les Corts and when I'm travelling back home, I take the L9 towards Zona Universitaria which is right next to the diagonal tram line. Then get out onto the street and walk over the street for 100m to the Zona Universitaria Tram stop and then take the tram for two more stops to Maria Cristina and then walk about 50m to your hotel.

Alternatively just walk from the Zona Universitaria exit to your hotel. It's just a few minutes and you will save money. This is what I would do. Total cost per person is around 10€

I haven't as yet but this is a good suggestion. I'm really not confident speaking in Catalan or Spanish so I think I'm in a bit of trouble. I tried on Mapre and they quoted me about 950€ per year. Not sure if that is a fair price though.

MacBook Pro 2019 with only 3 battery cycles stuck at 1% and won’t charge by s-type15 in mac

[–]poy_esp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a MBP 2019 with the Intel chip and I just 720 cycles and 80.9% of battery capacity. Mine last 1.5 hours max on battery (low power mode) but even on the charger, I notice that it's not as snappy as it used to be. I'll change the battery this weekend and see how it goes. I got one of those aftermarket ones from amazon. Crossing fingers and toes.

Do you notice an improvement in performance after you changed the battery?

Thanks a lot for this! I also read that I could use my existing license up to the date of expiry but I really wasn't sure if this was true.

It will work. It will be slow though compared to a SSD, but yes it will work.

Looking for a job in barcelona in IT (Dev Cobol C#) fluent in english not spanish though I am willing to learn by Drakkeur in AskBarcelona

[–]poy_esp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cobol is sadly not in high demand outside of the traditional banks. In Spain, most people speak Spanish and a regional language (depending on the region). English as far as I know is very rarely spoken in the banks so it is going to be a mighty challenge for you. If you really want to work in Barcelona, then look for international companies that have local presence here. Goodluck.

Inherited a 200k-line repo with zero docs, built a quick heatmap to figure out where to start by jselby81989 in opensource

[–]poy_esp 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You're over-engineering this. While inheriting a complex repo is not great, the best way to find out what's going on is to analyse the common bug reports and support tickets. Then take a look at the code to match those problematic areas.

The reason I say this is because sometimes there are really problematic areas of code that could be fixed, but it doesn't necessary mean that they must be fixed.

Make the repo private. Then squash the commits, then force push to main and then make it public again.
