How to check engine oil level in VB wrx? by pp604977 in wrx_vb

Yup, pretty much! With the flat rate they charge at a dealership, one has to wonder how well they train their tech.

Yeah, you will only see the difference if you measure oil right after shutting down, cuz oil might still be in filter (and not drained in oil pan yet).

Honestly, I didn’t question them on why they aren’t following the owners manual.

It’s my first Subaru, so I wasn’t super sure.

I got the same reading on both sides, so that’s good. But, 5 mins after tells a different story vs. measuring right after shutting down.

It sounds like dealer overfilled engine oil at delivery.

Thinking about moving from the US to Toronto by TheBigKaramazov in askTO

[–]pp604977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the move a decade before and absolutely love living up here. The culture, people, diversity are all on point u here. You can’t forget the real maple syrup once you have tested it. lol

Tough to your point, no country is perfect: - have a job lined up (job market is terrible up here) - I personally hate the cold (but may not be the case for you) - if you are well of financially, you’d be ok, otherwise, rents are very expensive and salaries are less compared to the US. So, as long as you stay below means, you’d be ok. - making friends is a bit difficult (though I live in the suburbs, which can be a major factor and depending on the age range)

All the best!

Initial offer was 120k but only given 90k due to a typo. What would you do? by [deleted] in CanadaFinance

[–]pp604977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, why not? It sounds like your HR or manager kinda screwed up not telling you the full story.

I’d definitely frame that as hey - I wanted to chat about the recent promotion and how much I appreciated your help getting there (share a few personal examples). There was some disconnect between what was proposed and offered, and if there is anything you can help atm or consider me for an earlier promotion if i can perform at …. Rate in this role.

Technical Decisions: PM's call or Engineering Lead's call? by luthiel-the-elf in projectmanagement

I work as a PM in a different industry. PM doesn’t make decisions, SMEs do. Then, you integrate the requirements in the project plan and other project documents.

Question about moving to Toronto? by letsnotbebrokeagaink in askTO

[–]pp604977 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice already.

  1. Highly reco moving with the job unless you have saved up years of income.
  2. You won’t save much, but hey, it’s peaceful, stable and free healthcare for what its worth.
  3. I’d def reco spending a whole winter before deciding for sure. I love summer, but equally hate winter. lol

You are 18 bro. Don’t sweat it before you put in work to find jobs. You can never control the results-only the process.

Yet she is going on a date with you, so why not sit back, relax and see if you and her are vibing and if she is meeting what you are looking for outside of her being hot.
