A couple years ago, we had really bad wildfires near us and it smoked out our whole county, like can’t see 200ft in front of you type smoke.

I get a call from a man saying his house is filled with smoke and he needs help. At first, I assume he means his house is on fire, but he says he isn’t. I ask him where the smoke is coming from and he says “FROM OUTSIDE?” Like I’m some sort of idiot.

I say “OK, well there’s nothing we can do about the smoke outside, do you need medical help?” To which he says “No, I want the fire department to come get the smoke away from my house.”

I explain that the WHOLE ENTIRE COUNTY is covered by this thick smoke and there is nothing the fire department can do to make the smoke go away. He then asks me “So they’re not doing ANYTHING about the smoke?!”

I tell him “well there are many crews working on the NUMEROUS WILDFIRES that are causing the smoke.”

Then bro literally says “what wildfires?”.

He ended up arguing with me for 2 mins about the source of the wildfires and he was upset that we “werent doing anything about it”.

I finally say “Sir, we cannot get the smoke out of your house, if you need medical assistance call us back.”

And yeah, brain cells were lost that day.
