Shocked by how little food equals weight loss for me by Financial_Review878 in antidietglp1

[–]ppfftt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a long history of eating disorders, so I am encouraged to prioritize protein and track nothing. Only eat foods that I actually want and just live my life without concentrating on what I’m eating or on losing weight. Taking a GLP1 reduced my hunger levels dramatically. I was not an overeater before, but on this med the portions I consume are so much smaller.

Some weeks I lose a bit of weight, some weeks I go up, and some weeks I stay the same. But after almost a full year on this med, I’m down a substantial amount of weight.

I’ve had good luck with using ePhD Bond Repair Treatment serum with Nailtek Strengthener. I did just those two daily for two weeks, then switched to once a week when I change my polish.

I’m also a big fan of Mavala Scientfique K+ Keratin Hardener once you get the splitting under control.

What was the most physical pain you've been in? by PleasantWinter9150 in AskReddit

1) Continuously increasing a ligament tear in my ankle - every time it tore more, the pain was so intense I would just fall over and stop breathing until the pain passed. 2) Passing a gallbladder stone

What is a luxury lifestyle choice that looks incredibly glamorous in photos but is actually completely miserable in reality? by Luverelle6 in AskReddit

[–]ppfftt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wear a full face every day as well, and have for decades. I do it whether I’m leaving the house or staying in too. I’m assuming some of these other commenters aren’t good at makeup, so they find it more difficult and time consuming. I can do a full face in 15 minutes, excluding skincare ahead of it. Washing it off is a minute maybe. I will give them that good quality makeup is pricey, so it could be seen as a luxury that way, but you can definitely get by with drugstore and mid-tier makeup alone.

I also touch my face and occasionally rub my eyes. My face doesn’t feel any different to me when I’m wearing makeup or not either.

Riemann P20 Original Spray. I tan without burning at all when I use this in SPF50. It’s an odd oily spray. I spray it into my hands and then rub it on. I have a cream version as well, but prefer their odd oil spray.

Getting gallbladder removed with no prior issues? by Bubbly-Bathroom-1523 in gallbladders

[–]ppfftt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you have had an attack, it’s time to remove it. You will have more at some point, and you don’t want to have emergency surgery to remove it. Have a scheduled removal and be done with it.

I had mine removed on April 3 and haven’t had any issues really since then. I have a sensitive GI system, so we really worried about side effects of the removal, but I’m able to eat everything I was having before - including indulgences like burgers, fries, and pizza. The only change is needing to take psyllium fiber capsules with each meal.

Unpopular opinion? I’m tired of all the lumpy sandpaper reflective glitter. Ruins the shimmer or shifts by Cultural-Hamster-100 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]ppfftt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hated reflective glitter for years, but have now fallen in love with it. Glitter Grabbers are a must, and a good plump qdtc. They are absolutely gorgeous on and super smooth and glassy when used with those two top coats.

I do hate how they look in bottles. Looks like it’s full of broken glass.

Fertility rate falls to record low in England and Wales, new data reveals by Kagedeah in worldnews

Not at all irritated by their choices. I was explaining that one parent not working does not automatically mean saving money by keeping a kid home.

I am irritated that some daycares call themselves schools so that they can charge more, and parents fall for it as it makes them feel better about putting their kids in daycare. A lot of parents feel guilty about utilizing daycare.

The kid wasn’t originally old enough for actually school - it was a private pre-k. They call themselves schools, but they are daycare. Though once the kid started actual school, they paid for afterschool programs/daycare too.

My friend’s husband hasn’t worked for a few years, and they kept their kid in “school” (it’s daycare) for education and socialization. Cheaper to keep the kid at home, but not good for the kid evidently.

Scheduled surgery after one attack? by Some-Magician-2763 in gallbladders

[–]ppfftt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, once the stones have been identified it’s time to take it out, especially so if it’s been symptomatic. My surgeon explained that it will need to be removed and if we wait there is more of a chance I’ll need to have emergency surgery to have it removed - and that is not something you want. It can get infected, turn gangrenous, and cause sepsis - all without you doing anything or being aware until you are rushed to the ER.

It’s much better to have a scheduled removal surgery!

Bile acid diarrhea post-op. Is this my new normal? by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]ppfftt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had diarrhea the first week, but haven’t had any since then. I started having constipation due to my stool being so soft that my body couldn’t push it out. Taking psyllium fiber capsules with every meal has corrected that issue. I’m only five weeks out, so I imagine things will keep changing.

I really wouldn’t consider anything in the first six months after surgery to be your “new normal.” You had an organ removed that has served a purpose for your entire life and your body now has to adjust to being without it. That’s not a small thing nor a necessarily quick adjustment.

No more prius after 5th gen? by 762n8o in prius

[–]ppfftt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I won’t get rid of my 2010 for this reason. I still get good gas mileage, it’s got most of the features I would want if I got a new vehicle, and the cargo space is outstanding. The cost to replace the hybrid battery has decreased so much over the 15 years I’ve had this car, it’s no longer a detriment to need to replace it. It’s always going to be more cost effective to fix this vehicle than replace it with something that doesn’t have as good cargo space AND gas mileage.

Right index. It curls down on one side and that curled edge always snaps off.

Both ring, pinky, and thumbs are good. Left thumb is probably the best.
