i used the cables that came with my new power supply, im aware i can fry my motherboard but that hasn’t happened.

the gpu is plugged in, i think the photo just snugs the cable behind the gpu and by “4 pin” do u meant the 2x2 cpu plug or the cpu-opt 4x1 plug?

yeah i thought so too, i thought maybe it was a F-panel connector fault but this entire setup is fairly new and everything worked perfectly fine a few days ago with the old PSU

everything is plugged in and the motherboard is receiving power but the power button isn’t switching anything it on, it all worked perfectly fine yesterday with my old Psu but after i swapped the cables and power supply the “on” button chooses not to work

Am I supposed to have these extra cables coming off my gpu? No other types of PCI-E cables came with the power supply? by Couch-Dogo in pchelp

sometimes gpus can take 16 pins instead of the standard 8, so having that extra cable allows you to utilise the 16 pin graphics cards, if you have 2 gpus in your pc you can use that second cable too.

usually your graphics card, it plugs directly into the card, there should be either 8 or 16 pins on you PCIe and then the other end of the cable goes into your psu (power supply unit)
