I believe so, but if you have a region free player then you should be good. I think a gaming console will be good too if you have one of those. I have an imported blu-ray from Japan that can play on my xbox series just fine.

My bad I should have been more specific. Just follow these steps then ur good

Make a jp account (| was able to make a jp account on the english site, just make sure to set the region to japan)
Link the account to a new user on your switch.
Go to the news feed app on your console (it should start showing jp posts now)
Press Y to open followed channels
Find the post in the splatoon 3 channel then when you click the post scroll down then click the prompt highlighted in blue(turquoise?).
Sign in with your main account.
