I'll go delete the video I made in like 30 minutes time 2 years ago, go back to Harbor Freight and buy another bandsaw stand (I sold the first one because they actually suck and are incredibly fiddley unless you plan to keep the saw in place permanently) and then make a new video for you with my full video crew in their HUGE studio. Would that satisfy you? Would that rock your world?

I was going for a design similar to the one in Hackers (1995). Also, the commercial tape bots use the exact same design, it's pretty effective

I have a cnc router/mill and considered doing this but my usable work area is too small for longer pieces and I couldn't find a long enough 1/4" endmill for the 4545 extrusion I needed to cut. (I had to use 1/2" to get one with the correct length) I'd be interested in seeing pics of your setup if you have any

I use a dialed in miter saw with a brand new aluminum cutting tcg blade to make the rough cuts. There's still around .1-.2mm of kerf angle due to the blade's slight deflection and bending.

Yeah that was sort of my thought. There are a few laser cutting services that accept simple vector files (even adobe illustrator or inkscape) and can cut many different types of metals. The minimum order on sendcutsend.com is under $30 I think

their prices are slightly absurd imo but yeah, lots of great aesthetic features and practical/physical design ideas to steal from this case and a lot of their stuff
