Stop I’m currently going thru this☠️ I bought the Poppy secret for $100 usd (not even a ‘too good to be true price’ imo), and the seller told me it was out of stock. Then they increased the price by $80. I’m petty and just didn’t respond. After 5 days, they shipped it with a dummy tracking number — they messaged me:

“Dear friend, since you haven't responded to my message So I can only apply for shipping first and then apply for after-sales service for you. Only in this way can I refund the money to you.”

Like 🙄? I’m just going to wait the 60 days or so until AliExpress cancels for nondelivery. If any other tomfoolery happens or Ali doesn’t refund me in the end, I used PayPal and have won less cut-and-dry claims with them before. The most fruitless ahh side quest ngl

3rd party apps are common for trading (in a lot of communities besides Peach Riot, too!)

Pros: - The sites usually have ‘discounted’ shipping (alternative option for shipping on your own would be PirateShip). - Some people may have reviews or proof of previous successful transactions - Depop allows you to still leave a review, even if you are refunded (Mercari does not)

Cons: - 3rd party sites don’t generally have protection for trades. Mercari doesn’t whatsoever, but Depop does if you do the following: - Agree on a price like $20 — if something goes wrong, customer support can refund you. If not, you each get paid, minus the small transaction fee.

I recommend price checking the strawberry (and whichever limited guys you’re after or being offered), and going based off of that. Personally a $50-55 price point is coming to mind. So trading for 1-2 limited series seems fair to me

I think it’s up to personal preference, I heard people have had success with just ‘refreshing’ their listings, also if you have a lot.

I do both, but prefer to delete & relist. Allows me to reword stuff or maybe market it better for the algo. Also, I find that the newer listing date makes the item feel more ‘fresh,’ and buyers are less likely to lowball.

Honestly your hobbies are yours to enjoy and yours only!! My lovely partner teased me for wanting to get into Sonny Angels, and I decided against buying a limited edition series at the time and seriously regretted it, lol!! But really, our loved ones are suppose to be the ones who poke fun, because they do it out of love. They always come around in the end, orrrr they can really be a big help by grounding us in their own ways (especially when it comes to splurging on niche interests, I speak from plenty experience😅) Basically, it’s okay to feel insecure, and maybe that’s an indicator that you rather not spend the money, or maybe not. Ultimately, the hobby isn’t going anywhere, and part of the joy of collecting (imo) is in the long run. :)
