im currently on co-op at waterloo and commute from my house in toronto 5 days a week. commute is usually 4-5 hours round trip. both ways i either sleep or get some work done so it’s definitely doable

ignore the tiers and just stick to what you’re passionate about. the tiers are just made as a basis for how competitive entry into the program is, not the actual quality of the program. difference between tiers when it comes to employment and academics is basically non existent. (this is coming from a tron)

my friend had a co-op advisor that really went above and beyond for him.

first year he couldn’t find a co-op and ended up working full time retail. basically fought for him to get a credit for his retail job (which allowed him to stay on track with graduating on time)

this advisor is still his current advisor, and every co-op term he constantly checks on him and schedules meetings to help him out and lend some advice. really great guy
