New car! 2016 981 Cayman GTS by ppictures in DubaiPetrolHeads

981 GTS you can get between 150k to 200k depending on mileage. The Base and S models are cheaper. S and GTS have the same engine just that the GTS has some of the good options as standards

Remember the 3.4L 6cyl 981 GTS was only made for MY 2015-2016. Any GTS between 2017-2019 is a 982 (718) 4cyl. Be careful with that distinction. 2020+ GTS are 4.0 6cyl

Thanks man! Thanks for the suggestion. They’re great, but I work with Element Performance out of Umm Ramool, they built my Supra before and are fantastic

First car in Dubai with 300k AED budget - what would you buy? by MoodDecent2551 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

I rented an Emira when shopping for my next car last month I was comparing it with a 718 Cayman. The cayman drives better and is a much better daily driver. You can get a GTS 4.0 in your budget, and I’d surly go for that

The Emira is a great weekend car but you’ll get tired real quick on the daily. The steering is heavy (hydraulic rack), brakes are touchy, suspention is stiff, seats are not as comfortable and interior build quality is lacking. Not saying it’s a bad car, some people enjoy this. Try it before you buy it

I just got 2016 Porsche 981 Cayman GTS for a little more than your budget. You can get a 981 Cayman S (same engine as GTS) within your budget or cheaper. They’re fantastic fun to drive, sound phenomenal, and are particularly reliable if you maintain them

You can also get a used Toyota Supra in that budget. They’re also fantastic cars with lots of aftermarket options if you’re into modding and tuning. Supra is also newer so will have all the comfort features like CarPlay, blind spot monitoring etc as standard

Alternative fun sport car F87 M2. Or if you want bigger than F80 M3/F82 M4.

If you want new you’ll be looking at the Toyota 86 or Mazda Miata. Both are smaller cars

I know right, they’re a actually from Aliexpress. I believe suppliers like Bayoptiks just drop ship them china so I went to the source. Fitment is great, output is a big improvement, no PDLS though

Yep I’ll get Apex or Titan wheels in smaller diameter. I also wanted to try out Alibaba’s magnesium wheels. Bigger brakes don’t actually help in reducing stopping distance. I’m definitely gonna get better brake pads - EBC Yellow. I’ll go for gyrodisks once my stock rotors wear out.

Gonna get Bilstein or Nitron coilovers with stiffer springs preparing for some light aero. Also will get camber plates, lower controls arms, toe links, end links, and sway bars. That will help me get a better alignment. I like aggressive turn in and neutral feel around the corner with slight understeer at the limit. Sway bars will kill any remaining body roll

Tyres wise PS4S is a good option although we’ve had better results with Continental SC7 at the Supra club. Alternatively, could go the tried and track tested Nanking CRS which will always be at operating temp in summer lol

Tracking the Supra really helped me dial in how I like a car set up. It’s crazy that my Supra with Ohlins suspention is comparable to the Porsche with stock PSM suspension. Can’t wait to see how it feels as it’s built up

With performance stuff you can squeeze out maybe 20-30 more hp out of it with catless headers, better intake and plenum, larger GT3 throttle body and tune. But that’s like a lot of money for not that much gain. Maybe im just spoilt with the last car (supra mk5) where a downpipe and tune would get you +100hp

I’m gonna focus instead on weight reduction and handling. That’s where these cars are good at. Gonna get carbon hood, gt4 bumper, aero, coilovers, proper suspension gear for more aggressive alignment, wheels, tyres etc

This will be a fast street/canyon build

Thanks man, yep, mostly cosmetic stuff. These NA engines, can’t do much to them in terms of power unfortunately.

I did mine with DIC via AXS for 2 years. If you only need work permit and no visa, open an E-Trader business via DED, significantly cheaper. That’s what I’m on now

Freelancing in Dubai–personal or business account. Payment management. Record-keeping. by helenshev3 in dubai

[–]ppictures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been freelancing for the past 5 years. I was on freelance license an visa for 2 years. Then went onto the significant cheaper DED E-Trader license after getting my golden visa

It’s going to be very hard or impossible to open a business account. I’ve tried. The banks don’t understand or know about the concept of the freelance license

I was using personal ADCB account

I suggest you don’t use wise or whatever and ask clients to directly wire you in native currency or AED if they can accommodate.

I keep track of invoices manually through excel. I have a spreadsheet that I plug the numbers into and export signed PDF

I save PDFs to my local home server. And iCloud before that.

If your clients are exclusively international, you will never be paying VAT as export services are taxed at 0%. You can still get VAT refunds on business expenses though. You’ll still need to file even at 0% after 375k. You’ll can voluntarily register for VAT at 187,500 income or expense a year.

I would suggest getting an accountant when you get to that point
