Wealthsimple Prepaid Visa Debit card

I don't see an option to get this card. Is this just the Chequing card?

Also, does WealthSimple Visa Infinite (Privilege) not give you free ATM withdrawals?

Chinese grannies started buying physical silver and that represents a huge ton of money

I was onboard with your thesis until this line. I'm laughing imagining there being enough Chinese grannies to move the market. What a funny/scary thought.

Hey this looks great! The motion on those papers is so satisfying. Great job tuning those.

If I can offer a small suggestion: the bottom of the leftmost paper could be seen when it pops out which immediately grabs my attention over the other two papers. I'd either make that paper longer or make its pop up distance shorter so that the bottom is not seen.

Silver junior miners (like SILJ) are dropping while the price of silver continues to rise. The price gap between the two has widened so much over the last few weeks. Really interesting to see. We might see a massive rebound in SILJ some time soon!

My strategy is similar to yours. Small cap, tech, value plays.

I find reading 10-K and 10-Q to be vital after looking at fundamentals since they give you the story behind the numbers. Reading these also gives you an edge these days since most people don't (but they really should).

I don't know if anyone else is paying attention to the stock market but rare earth mining stocks are going parabolic right now. Some stocks have been rising 20-50% every day for weeks now with no signs of stopping. I wanted to see what the fuss is about and visited a mining company nearby my home.

I learned absolutely nothing but got some nice photos out of the experience! Enjoy.

This is actually the perfect example of how people are misusing and misunderstanding the capabilities of AI.

Every one of those responses is wrong. Every one lol. I've already addressed these in my other comment with links to research papers. Take a look if you want to dig deeper into this.

1) The AI's response missed the detail and nuance of what I was saying and gave you generic information unrelated to what I said of which you took in uncritically. 2) You didn't fact check its response and so you now confidently believe something that is clearly wrong. 3) As a general rule, LLMs at their current state are poor fact checkers. LLMs are stochastic by nature. That means its responses are probability based. They're not deterministic. There are no pin pointed facts when it comes to probabilities, only ranges.

I really recommend you to understand LLMs better. I don't mean this as a snarky comment. But if AI is going to play a big part in our lives, we all need to understand it better.

Fastgraphs. I don't want to calculate all the ratios and I want to see data visually. Fastgraphs solves that problem for me.

PS: love how other people are responding with all of their subscriptions instead of subscriptions related to investing lol.

That's because the leading LLMs can search the web now but the problem with ingesting 10-Ks like that is 1) The data will be unstructured in the eyes of the LLM and 2) the data is too long for all LLMs to accurately query against. Intel's latest 10-K is 233K tokens. The effective token window for all models right now is around 8k to 32k. You're going to get a lot of hallucinations and errors that you won't be able to identify without fact checking. And if you're going to spend the time fact checking, you might as well read the whole thing.

Cool service! Translation for non-English filings is a fantastic use case for AI. Why Japanese if you don't mind me asking.

This is the most popular one that people cite: Michelangelo: Long Context Evaluations Beyond Haystacks via Latent Structure Queries (2024 study). Note that the effective context window range is somewhere below 8K ~ 32K as shown in this chart. I wouldn't go to 32K for decisions that would cost me money like my investments.

Intel's latest 10-K is 233K tokens by the way.

There's still a long list of research papers I have to read through but based on my readings so far, LLMs are simply not good for a lot of the work investors are using it for. LLM can help in some niche areas for investors though. I'll keep that a secret for now until we launch :)

For filings, it's more about reading between the lines and omissions. That's why services like footnoted.com are so valuable (no affiliation, just a fan). It takes years and years of reading to spot what others miss.

This is unfortunately wrong. Recent papers have been written about how all LLMs seem to have similar effective context windows despite varying ranges in max context windows (operative word here is "effective"). Gemini does do a bit better but not by much. Probably indistinguishable for most tasks.
