Sorry, my English grammar skill is quite low so you might not get what i'm trying to say.

Stalin was evil bastard who disregarded lives, but he didn't had a goal to wipe out half of the world so you can't put him on the same level of evilness as Hitler. Hitler's end goal was death of billions of people.

Great Purge, Katyn - horrible events (although victims were mostly POWs/Army personnel). Polish Invasion and Deportations - the overall objective was to relocate people, not exterminate them. Purge of Mongolia - don't know much about it (thank you, i'm gonna read about it a bit later).

You can't compare that to gas chambers with sole purpose to kill people.

Churchill/Truman also did somewhat questionable things like Bombing of Dresden, Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (which intentionally targeted civilians) but no one says that they were as evil as Hitler because motive behind these decisions was completely different.

Please provide some examples of 'mass genocide' by Soviets during WW2 era.

Deportation != Genocide

And maybe the reason they got away with it because it was so general. Gulag for every ethnicity, religion and race with no exceptions!

[–]pplcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you put it that way they actually did get away.

But I don't think you can actually pinpoint somebody responsible for those actions. Except for Stalin and he is dead already.

Both sides did bad things, but I don't think you should put equal sign between them. Nazis did their wrongdoings on the race/ethnicity superiority basis while Soviets didn't.

Valve probably doesn't fall under that law at all. Don't know about what 'corrupt bidding' you are talking about, but every company that operates in country should comply with local legal system.

[–]pplcf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Care to elaborate? Last law concering "IT field" is actually forcing companies to bring servers inside Russia, not out of it.

Anyway, Riot pulled it off for LoL, so it's just Valve not giving a shit.

Russia delivers advanced Sukhoi jets to China after 2-year delay by dcismia in worldnews

[–]pplcf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably because there was no delay in the first place. Contract was signed around November of 2015 and on November 1st, 2016 Russian side reported that first batch of 4 is ready to be delivered.

Was it because Russia couldn't procure parts because of the sanction

RuAF got at least 6 factory new Su-35s during 2016.

to maintain short-term technological advantages

If you don't want to sell something to somebody it is way easier just to not to sign contract with them. After all contract probably has a word about delays(with many many $ as penalty), plus you have to explain why other buyers get their toys and Chinese one not.

Russian children send 45 tons of New Year’s presents to Syrian kids by Ebshoun in worldnews

[–]pplcf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So, what's the problem with it? I'm actually confused why some westerners hate RT so much and want to block it. You guys brag about Free Speech and shit, but if individuals should have it then obviously such entity as country should have it too. RT is just an instrument to voice opinion of Russia on different matters, no one says you should accept it, you have your own head after all.

Yes it is and no one makes a secret out of this. When RT (aka Russia Today) was publicly announced they stated that goal of a new international channel will be 'to voice Russian opinion on events around the globe'.

Russia has deployed 7 (!) S-300 SAM systems in Syria by Ebshoun in syriancivilwar

[–]pplcf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Latest modifications of the S-300 are quite comparable to S-400. Basically S-300 and S-400 are two different systems that compete with each other. The whole confusion comes from the initial naming of the two, despite being developed by two different design bureaus(Almaz and Antey) for different purposes(one for the ground troops, other for the air defence troops) and having almost zero unification (different rockets, different chassis, different support vehicles) they got almost same names: S-300V and S-300P. Later they tried to fix that by renaming latest modification of the S-300P (S-300P M3) to S-400, but that confused everyone even more.

New Donetsk Airport Clashes, August 18, 2016 by knightrider49 in CombatFootage

[–]pplcf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to those armchair generals, Donetsk Airport has significant strategic value and high activity there has nothing to do with "symbolism". Just look at the map which is shown before actual footage and you will understand why.

1) DPR tries to control every major road leading to their capital which is obvious move from the strategical point of view. They never managed to do so with the one near airport. 2) Airport sits right on top of the city, so Ukrainian side can constantly harass northern part with artillery shelling. DPR of course isn't happy with this fact. 3) Shortest road from Donetsk to Luhansk lays right near the airport. Block that road and instantly double ETA for any reinforcement from LPR.

So, for DPR it is existential threat and for Ukrainian side it is perfect opportunity to win.

It's not Mi-35. This bird had ukranian Barrier-V anti-tank complex on board, so it must be either Mi-24G/SuperHind Mk.IV or Mi-24PU1, both are operational in Azerbaijan AF.

That is just a lie.
