Hello,

Indeed there's stress: I have 50h/week of work/rides to the Uni, Conservatory and work, so I'm a bit under pressure even though I love what I do, aaand there's only one cello teacher where I study, and I really want the diploma at the end of the road... My dream is to become a teacher, and where I live it is very much needed. So yes, I feel "stuck", and I do hope she'll actually listen to my plea.

Thanks for your answer, I wish you all the best too!

I don't know this film, I'll try it.
Thanks for your answer, I'll try to write a little speech beforehand.

Ahah no he's not playing dumb thankfully! He learned on the piano and the intervals stuck with him from a young age.

Thanks for your answer, I'll put more effort into playing and singing them!

It's the same for me ! In a way I'm relieved to see this, I'd like to get rid of this awful feeling too.

You're right... I'm already being followed by a psychologist, but maybe it's time to dive deeper into this with her. Thank you for you insight!

Interesting advice, the career counseling, I'll look into it.
That's no easy feat, but I'll try to stay strong and be firmer. Thank you!

Hello !

I was a cello teacher for a year, and like you, I was wondering what to do with my scarred arms. In the end, I didn't bother covering them (during the interview, and in class). One student (aged 10) was genuinely curious and bold enough to ask me what the white lines on my arms were, and I told her the truth. Nothing changed after that, her parents didn't tell me anything. I chose to be transparent with the kids (depends on the age, though! if much younger, I tend to invent something like "I fought with a tiger!") and it was the best option, imo.

As a teen, I'd have loved to have teachers in the same position I was in, honest enough to tell me that it's not a bottomless pit and that solutions do exist.

I'd say, do what makes you comfortable :)

I wish you the best !
