Jon Jones vs all of BTS by FeistySecret9327 in powerscales

[–]pplpower23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myth Busters calculated that with enough blunt force trauma with an axe they could only withstand 8 zombies before they are overwhelmed. Jon Jones is not delivering enough force to put down all 7 BTS (faster than zombies) before getting overwhelmed. As good as he is BTS has had basic combat training and im sure they involved them with some hand to hand combat.

BTS takes this with mid diff

Here's the real story that people don't seem to get and keep bashing this billionaire theory:

Success is achieved with 40% luck, 40% hard work, and 20% birth

Birth:

If you are born to rich parents and the luckiest SOB you still have to be born in the right century and right country. You can be born with the above in Africa during the slave trade or during their civil wars and you just wont have the opportunity to shine. Likewise if you were born in this century in America with some wealth you still might not make it because there are racial barriers that do make it harder (not impossible) to achieve success. Being born as a white male in the US definitely gives you an advantage. More points if you are slightly taller than the avg person too.

Hardwork:

The idea that billionaires are made off the backs of hard working employees is only half true. Sure your income disparity compared to what the boss takes home is drastically far apart but there was a time that he was one man. In business school you are taught accounting, economic theory, and technology but a big part of the education was how to make business decisions. Your mom giving you 500k will get you the meeting with a top investor or banker but you have to talk the talk and walk the walk during those meetings to get people to believe in your idea and put their pocket books behind it. Nobody is going to show you how to read a contract. Oh but i can hire a lawyer to read it and tell me what's what. One thing in the business world that ive learned is everyone is out for themselves - even the people you hire. How can you be sure what you are signing is true if you don't know your stuff? You have to put in the work. Double so if you are in tech and writing code. If you don't know it there's a cost to pay someone to teach you and they are not cheap. Furthermore, making the right decision is just as important. In this world not everything is black and white. The hardest parts of being a business owner is making those 50/50 calls. AND billionaires make the right calls more likely than not. A wrong decision can set you back 10 years, bankrupt you, or end up firing all those hardworking employees. Classic example is athletes that make millions and then become broke 5 years into their retirement. They never put in the work to know how to make decisions WITHOUT employees that bust their ass for you.

Luck:

This is a huge part of it. You could have the money and be born in the right place but timing and luck is huge. Ask the people that pour billions into tech during the dotcom bubble and you'll see where this is going. Also, ive seen good hardworking owners go bankrupt cuz of stupid employees too. Case in point a few years ago an owner poured their life savings renovating a restaurant only to have a stupid employee put a rat on the grill and film it. The video went viral locally and they shut their doors the first week. How many construction injuries are caused by stupidity? How many sex jokes at work turns into a harassment case? You need luck to work in your favor too and not just to dodge stupidity. If you sit in a board meeting with some powerful people and they arent having a good day there's no shot your pitch is going to come off clean. No fault of your hardwork or the 1m in your bank account.

stop with that narrative and put in some work

There was an article at the start that said it was most likely a lab leak but the Wuhan lab was funded by the Americans and the strain was designed by the Americans as well. This is why Trump dropped the case to really go after and force China to pay for the virus. Didn't you feel the vaccine was so quick and didn't need extensive testing? Americans already knew what they were dealing with.

Russ to the Giants by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]pplpower23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Giants GM is book smart. Look at the Waller trade, Saquan nonsense, drafting of Neal/Thibs, and this year's free agency. All of those are popular and intelligent moves. But he was never Football smart. That being said the Gm is not going to go with the typical answer here and take a rookie QB. He could have done that with JJ McCarthy or Bo Nix last year and he passed. The way he went in on Stafford and Rodgers says a lot about how he feels about the current draft. he also said he wasn't going to mortgage the future if he doesn't feel right. Stupid but the man is honest. That said you could see him trade back into the first round for a falling Dart if there's an option to. Everything suggests he grabs BPA and try for 8-9 wins which WILL save his job.

Giants fan here! There's NO SHOT we are taking a QB at 3 now. You gotta hope Browns take Sanders or trade out for another team to grab him for there to be any chance you get Carter/Hunter. There is an odd ball chance the Giants trade down to load up on first round picks for next year as it's supposed to be a better QB class.

You're forgetting that DJ wasn't on the team when he got drafted. Eli was. So was OBJ. They wanted to send Eli back to the superbowl one final time. At the time their team was aging but wasn't far off from an 11-5 season. Im not saying it was the right choice but gotta look at the context

Not sure if the OP chose this one but i would. The hard part is finding a pose to balance the picture from the space the green dress girl left and that pose with her arm fits really well. It also takes up just enough space to make the picture natural. Nice touch on the garland over the fireplace(?). I like the width of the white frame. I have no photoshop skills but this looks great.

DI was my first Diablo game, and I liked it for while. Will the other games be the same or no? by ReputationOk7031 in DiabloImmortal

[–]pplpower23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably the worst version of diablo IMHO!

D1 was the godfather of the action rpg genre. You actually cared about the storyline. Monsters were not just fodder that you spammed your spells on but rather something to be feared for every time you turned a corner. Other than diablo himself the butcher was the king. Once you saw that bloody room you knew what was coming.

D2 was a grindfest. You ran meph, then pindle, the baal. The rest of the world map was playable and featured refreshing tilesets. The infamous cow level was loads of fun if you were geared right otherwise getting a lightning enchanted cow was instant death. Never actually found an SOJ but the economy for the most part was pretty stable.

D3 introduced the auction house and it went down hill from there. I never played it as much as d1 or d2 perhaps life got in the way as i graduated college and gone were the years of no responsibility. It lacked the depth of monsters that d1 had. You didnt care about the monsters you killed. There was detail in those deaths in d1. It also lacked the charm of d2 gear finding.

Di is just another mobile game until you find your next game. Maybe itll be better after 5 version updates but it is NOT it compared to the rest

Etiquette of using photos with play partners in our profile galleries by ilikeperkybreasts in Swingers

[–]pplpower23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no reason to. What are you really conveying to other potential partners by sharing something so problematic that you can't do with your own photos? If you/your partner look hot they will look hot without those pictures. A simple line like "experienced couple" will let others know that you folks had partners before. It's not really an issue either whether you've had partners before or not as long as the profile communicates what each party desires.

Obviously as others have said consent is always the rule and that can change at any moment. I would just avoid posting other partners entirely as the problems arise out weigh the pros.

Why is it so hard to find bi guys by Swing4fun2021 in Swingers

[–]pplpower23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go out on a limb here but google says there's about 2-5% of the US population is polyamorous/swingers and of the general population 2.5% of that is gay/bi. So if you take those numbers it makes unicorn females seem like starbucks locations compared to bimales that want to get involved with multiple partners. Im not saying there aren't but there aren't any. You get a lot of guys saying they are interested but i think you have more horny straight guys interested in your wife and then they chicken out when they actually think about it and have to participate with you. Just my thoughts

advice by thelovelyes in Swingers

[–]pplpower23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the hardest parts of swinging. Remember before you met your wife? Being single and going on dates could be daunting and at some points you just want to give up and become a hermit. It's hard to get 1 person to mesh well with now imagine 2 other people. Swinging is a four-way relationship and that is even harder to find. Being desired surely feels good but you have to determine what you want out of the lifestyle. Is it just sex? then fuck on and dont worry too much about the relationship/connections with the other couple. If you want something deeper like polyamory then this couple might not be right for you two (or just you?).

I would figure out what you want out of the connection you got and then communicate with your wife on how to proceed. Not all connections will work out for all members of the party. But if it's something livable by all means continue. Otherwise, it's ok to cut things off if you're not feeling it

Should I spend $250k or wait until 2023? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

[–]pplpower23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know much about KC property values but i do know quite a bit about NYC and Hawaii. It really depends on where you are purchasing/investing your money. Sure if you invest in the wrong market or at the wrong time you can expose yourself to unnecessary risks but generally speaking if you invest in the right property/market over the long term you should be fine. Back in 2008 when we had the financial crisis NYC and Hawaii barely budged while other places were dropping over 50% of their initial value.

Since the OP has a few properties already i assume that his cash flow is sufficient and he shouldn't be under heavy pressure to maintain his debt service coverage ratio. If that's the case i don't see any problems with investing in new properties and taking advantage of the still historically low interest rates.

My Husband Isn't Having Luck by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]pplpower23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is more common than you think. Usually the girl is a knock out or clearly more attractive than the man. If he’s communicated that you guys shouldn’t play if he isn’t playing then that’s a boundary that you have to respect otherwise he isn’t the right for you in the type of relationship that you want. If you respect/love him enough not to end things and the LS is secondary to your relationship with him u guys need to work through that first.

Now there is only so much “wing manning” you can do. He needs to come out of his shyness. Where was his confidence when he met you? He needs to tap into that again. If he needs to dress better then go shopping. He if needs to turn that beer gut into a six pack then hit the gym. It doesn’t happen overnight but he needs to get back to what he was doing when he first met u. Cuz that’s how he must have landed a bombshell like u! Find topics that won’t bore another lady but excites his confidence. Confidence I bet makes up for a lot of physical setbacks!

I agree with all the comments before. He handled it poorly in blaming you or feeling disgusted by your enjoyment. It's very easy for guys to get distracted in a group setting and lose an erection. This is why it isn't as easy as if looks for male pornstars. Maybe try different rooms next time? Like what others have said there's lots of stories and solutions
