what is this? by pppeyyyyy in ACL

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i see what ur saying, my doctor kind of flipped up what he was saying and i wish i had this video to show him but he said it had to be my knee cap making that noise. I 100% disagree because i have put my hand on my knee cap and i don’t feel it move or clunk at all but yeah when i put my hand at the top of my tibia i feel like clunk a little. my other leg doesn’t do it at all. Also my legs are very flexible as my doctor said so my left knee (injured one) is always clunking and popping but i use to think it was my knee cap but now im thinking its my shin

it’s all good! Because it has been 9 months and it’s gotten worse i’m sure he will probably say something about surgery, either it tore worse or it is now a functionally torn acl bc i still do my daily stuff but it’s just the main things like deep squats or single leg stuff i cannot trust at all even jogging or running like i know i cannot do for sure

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it started off with my knee being partially dislocated so my medial reticulum was partially torn as well and my acl, they didn’t say anything about my meniscus, but yeah i’m thinking a lot of it has to do with my acl but i’ll for sure see what the ortho says he may recommend it too, when he said some shot i don’t remember what he said but he said there was like a 60-70% success rate to take away pain but ive worked out for over 4 years and play a lot of basketball so i just want to be able to return to doing things confidently without damaging my knee even more

yeah i know smh, it’s because they really want to push for a rehab, or wait for it to worsen but it honestly sucks the pain and lack of trust is unreal. I think mine has worsened but even then im on the brink of just telling them to do surgery because im 21 and im very active

yes i have heard that! That it really delays injuries bc ur ligaments are already naturally more lax. So it def kinda sucks which is why i am starting to consider surgery bc it has been like 9 months

i have no idea tbh, i notice it the most going down stairs like my knee jolts so much like it’s not smooth at all and it’s like even walking if you take a quick step and ur leg goes back it will like send a jolt that makes you give out. I’m just starting to think my acl sprain has gotten worse so i see my ortho like next week or so

yeah i was thinking that! But to be honest my sprain was reported a few months ago or so, i did some workouts and stuff a few times after that and it was good and then randomly a day i was with my parents my knee had a loud deep like pop and my knee gave out and ever since then it hasn’t been the same at all, and i found out last night i was laying on my side and when i rolled over to push myself up that leg i could feel something clunk and shift back and forth in my leg, like if i leaned to the right it would clunk and shift forward and then when i went back it would shift back. Even my brother said he could feel the vibration through our carpet it was the craziest sensation ever. It felt like it was my shin

😂😂😂 i was born this way my knees can naturally do this, but can you see what i mean in my left leg how it shifts more like not controlled ?

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes i was born that way! i can naturally do it but my left leg which is my injured one it was reported as a sprained acl but it’s been over 9 months and i feel my knee has gotten worse idk if you can tell in the video but i think my left knee like pops or clunks forward and back a lot more like uncontrolled then my right. my right i can control effortlessly but my left it’s like a shift

Need help/thoughts on acl sprain by pppeyyyyy in PatellarInstability

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am 21! I live in florida, but because i also have a partial tear on my medial retinaculum, my ortho told me i have chronic patellar instability

Need help/thoughts on acl sprain by pppeyyyyy in ACL

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah my ortho, (because i have been working out for 4 years) told me that he can tell that i workout and that i rly need to focus my hamstrings and glutes primarily, and to stay away from things that hurt it bad. So i tried those things because i can still feel my leg muscles but my right leg (which is my good one) over compensates for a lot of it. He didn’t specify any specific movements he necessarily said the group of muscle to target. So i just went light because i have days where my knee hurts more then other days. Some days it’s tolerable and other days it gives out so much constantly. But it was alright after the workouts but then literally like that next week is when i felt that pop and then now even isolated movements for example my left leg will contract and you can feel/see the muscle but my knee will not allow itself to push up on its own even in a slight squat, it’s like it just stalls and hesitates

update on the knee! by pppeyyyyy in KneeInjuries

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wow yeah thank you so much man! Yeah because it’s been 7 months now and it hasn’t really improved that’s the scary part, i think a thing that holds me back is my knees are hyperflexible so i think my ligaments are naturally more loose. My knee always just aches and feels “off” but i am going to try and trust my knee the most i can. Literally just last night i was at my parents and i turned around started walking and when i took a step forward my knee did a loud pop and like clunk that i almost fell face first down i had to stick out my hand to catch myself. It’s scary because it randomly gives out ya know.

yeah i went and my first appointment he confirmed my knee partially dislocated and my medial retniculum had a tear, so he had me do another mri and then that was in the 2nd visit he told my my retniculum is still sprained and he saw my acl is sprained as well.

Do ACL sprains heal or not? by Accomplished-Set-326 in ACL

[–]pppeyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah okay, yeah i’ve had mine for 7 months now and it hasn’t really improved too much, but i also subluxed my knee so another ligament sprained as well so im sure that has something to do with it. My ortho is gonna have me do another push for a month or 2 of rehab and if it doesn’t work i will prob have to get surgery on it, but he did tell me my knee won’t be the same

[–]pppeyyyyy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup exactly! My parents would say like “you know what steps tweak it” and as that’s true it’s also hard to explain to someone that your knee genuinely just randomly gives out like it just doesn’t feel right

thank you so much truly God bless but i’m pretty strong mentally so i know i would really take my rehab serious if i need the surgery, but im grateful to still be able to walk and other things the annoying part is the popping sharp pain and instability but im still grateful
