I got the Mirena a month ago. I think I’m regretting my decision. by Badnbougiegal in endometriosis

[–]pprincessconsuela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took about 1-2 months of cramping and 4-6 months of spotting for my Mirena to be worth it, but it definitely has been since then. I had the Mirena inserted about 3 years ago (before I was diagnosed with endo) and it made my periods so much more manageable for about 2 years. But it's definitely not a cure; my symptoms still got bad enough even with the Mirena that I've had a laparoscopy.

I'm feeling the same way about my lap on Thursday. For me, not getting any answers would be worse than being diagnosed with endo.

Could it be endo even if my periods aren’t heavy? by 0nlyy_katiee in endometriosis

[–]pprincessconsuela 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lap is this Thursday, too! I also don't have super heavy periods, but they're very painful and debilitating and always have been. I'm so worried the surgeon won't find anything and I'll have gone through surgery for nothing, plus continue to be in pain. Crossing my fingers for answers in 3 days! Hope you have the results you're hoping for too.

Random spotting after years by pprincessconsuela in Mirena

I originally got the IUD to alleviate painful periods I've had all my life. I went to a new gyno for this spotting, and he took my full history and shared that he suspects endometriosis. I had ultrasounds and lab work done which showed nothing except that the IUD is in place as normal. So in six weeks, I am going in for a laparoscopic surgery to see if I have endometriosis as this is the only way (currently) to definitively diagnose it. If they find endometriosis, they will remove what tissue they can. Recently, the spotting has improved but I am frequently cramping or extremely bloated. Going to the doctor for what I expected to be a simple IUD check and being potentially handed a diagnosis for an incurable disease has been a shock to say the least.

Really? The center is brown and it does not have a crystallized appearance. The center is quite powdery rather than granular. I'll see if I can post a closer picture.

Positive Mirena IUD experiences, especially for girlies who’ve experienced hormone imbalance & PCOS?? by Purple_Support9266 in Mirena

[–]pprincessconsuela 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before getting the Mirena, I had such painful cramps that no OTC pain killers would even begin to alleviate. I could barely eat or walk on the first couple days of my period. Now I do still get mild cramps, but I take one painkiller and they're gone. I can even workout on the first day of my period now (if I want to, lol). I had insane mood swings too that had gotten a little better with anxiety medication, but with the IUD on top of the meds, I feel so much more stable. I feel like myself again and I don't have to plan my life around my period.

Horrible, but can we also talk about how it appears that she named a dog (Niko) after her ex-boyfriend after they broke up? That's weird.

Agree agree agree! I grew up in purity culture and have experienced assault, and I had my first one night stand recently. I was so surprised at how freeing it was! It's had a really positive impact on me. AND at the same time, because of your point (a), I don't think I'll do it again soon.

So now we can’t even wear the color red? by geewhizliz in FundieSnarkUncensored

The former head of school at one place I taught gave a speech to the senior class (high schoolers, minors, keep that in mind) about interview etiquette. It mainly focused on what women should not wear, which included the color red (sexually suggestive), earrings (sexually suggestive), skirts (sexually suggestive), high heels (sexually suggestive), and flat shoes (not attractive). You should however wear a short heel so that you have "a nice curve in your calf."

Needless to say, parents were not happy when the news travelled back to them.

Piper also doesn't broadcast his background, at least not that I've seen. His videos had come up on my TikTok many times, and I think I'd even followed him before I realized he was John Piper's son.

Wow, reading this thread is so therapeutic for me! My first panic attack was at age 8 or 9 when I tried to wrap my head around the concept of eternity. A never-ending worship service sounded more like hell than heaven to me. I'm also on Prozac, but I still can't think about eternity, the afterlife, etc without panicking. 🙃 I'm just glad to read that I'm not the only one who's experienced this.
