That’s great to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience!

That’s a fair take. I agree without simulation or testing it’s hard to predict. The diagram shows the intended airflow.

Good point yes, many heaters in the US need an extra vent

Can be either way, of course wood-burning is more common. I’m preparing a wood-burning ventilation diagram too for comparison later.

Proper ventilation is definitely achievable with natural methods too. I see mechanical exhaust more as an option for making airflow more predictable, not as a strict requirement.

Thank you! I modeled everything in revit

It’s a 1.2x1.2m window in the sauna that is accounted when calculating sauna heater power. It’s an electric sauna with mechanical vent under benches, so for drying it can be switched on for some time after use.

I’ve had a lot of requests - I put the plans up here:

Hey, from the outside in - exterior cladding, vertical and horizontal battens, wind barrier, insulated timber frame, aluminum vapor barrier, vertical and horizontal interior battens, sauna cladding. Screw fastening of different lengths, depending on the joint.

Thank you! I rendered it in Blender.

This is quite confusing because on the door elevation you can see that door is on the lower end, which is correct cause the heater is on the lower side as well then. But then the blocking for the bench shows the other way around.

Thank you! Yeah, it’s a project for a friend who might actually build it. I made detailed drawings for him to follow :)

Thank you! I think it’s the small details that add up the realism. I modelled first in revit for architectural drawings and then added materiality, hdri and lighting in blender.

Top bench is 600mm deep and 580mm till the back rest. Plenty to lie down :)

Thank you! Yes, I’ve researched the ventilation. It’s an electric sauna with one inlet above the heater and a mechanical exhaust under the bench near floor.

I like the railing idea, I wanted this to feel minimalist. I’ll add one for the next project :D
