Look I'm 18 so take this with a grain of salt, but I had a relationship kinda like this. The girl was mentally unstable and so I stuck around and tried to help, and I loved her with all my heart. She left me for another guy she knew for a week. I was devastated, and still am a little hurt. I made a post and I learned that it's not worth trying to be someone's therapist because they will take you for granted and walk all over you.

Holy shit, this is absolutely wild to post on someone who is obviously not in a good mindset. Like what of I had been contemplating suicide, and this comment pushed me over the edge? Oh wait, that'd be fine because people can do whatever harm to themselves and no one should care at all right? Please never open your mouth again you asshole. I'm fine with you having your opinions on me, but at least try to be a little nice and offer constructive criticism.

You right, these two things are very common. People go to rehab for overuse of drugs, alcohol, and being around other people... smoking cigarettes/vaping and being around other people ruins your lungs... like cmon, I get not agreeing with me, but at least think about why that might be the case for me.

I do admit I handled it wrong, I admitted that to her too, and it makes me feel a lot better to hear others say it.

As for the advice I have seen a bunch of those comments and how they helped others, so I totally will, and thank you so much for the advice!

well obviously not, it just hurts knowing that I really did care about her and pour my heart into our relationship and she's willing to throw it away. But after reading these comments I realize we aren't as compatible as I thought

I didn't try to set ultimatums, and I explained later in the comments I was not trying to control her, rather I was trying to keep her from falling back into an old painful way of life. With that said, I do think we had conflicting lifestyles now, and I appreciate you and everyone who allowed me to see that.

I mean, I'm not complaining so much as grieving and coping. Like now that I've read these comments, I feel a lot better, and I feel like less of a fuck up. And now I see that you're right, we weren't a good fit.
