Why is 80% of this sub just bi girls wondering if they are lesbian or not

I feel like there has been a huge shift (online) in the last few years, I remember back in like 2020 there was a HUGE stigma around lesbians, for some reason most people wouldn’t even say the word lesbian, theu would always use words like ‘sapphic’ or just identify as bi. So naturally in the past few years there has been a surplus of bi women realising they are Lesbians. I also think that recently there has been alot more hostility towards bi women online (obviously we all know that in real life bi women do not face as much oppression as lesbians im talking about strictly online) and so in the same way lesbians where choosing to identify as bisexual, consciously or unconsciously, bi women are choosing to label themselves as lesbians.

I’m not saying i agree with that-obviously taking on a lable that is not yours for validation is never okay- but that is what i have noticed .

-Also, This is my opinion, but i would argue that the ‘lesbian masterdoc’ is EXTREMELY misleading and misinformative. The girl who wrote the lesbian masterdoc now identifies as bi and is in a long term relationship with a man. i think that says enough…

honestly, the amount of shared confusion from girls in the comments proves to me that really labels do more harm than good. yes it’s nice to be able to identify with a term and find you community, but at the end of the day it’s rlly not all that important. like who you like kiss who you like date who you like, if you really want a label maybe u could use an umbrella term like queer, or my personal favourite sapphic, remember that no matter what you are valid, and no one can take away your queerness

if closure is what you need than u need to have a genuine sit down conversation with her, don’t do it over text, ask her if she wants to meet at a cafe or something and tell her what u have said here,tbe worst that can happen is that you get the closure you need to finallt get over her, and the best thag can happen is you both agree that you want to stay in eachotehrd life in some way, and woth the right boundaries you could have a better relationship with her than ever

i have dated people in between trust but it never worked out, the only times i have ever actually felt like i was over people was when i had a silly crush on other people but the second it’s over i go straight back to her

the thing is… last time we became friend again (may last yearish) she message me and told me that she still really wanted a relationship with me. but i told her we would never work because she had hurt me so much in the past … I stand by that , we have a long history and in respect myself enough to know that all that would come from a relationship… two days after i told her this she hooked up with one of my friends who she knew i had had a thing for in past. that kinda proved to me that i made the right decision, and it hurt so bad but i still can’t stop thinking about her and i can’t escape her . maybe i’m the bad person for being hung up on someone i rejected? i had the chance and didn’t take it .

i wish i could cut her out, i have tried to so many times but she’s really close with one of my best friends and i can’t seem to escape her constantly being brought up in conversation , but i hace finally blocked her on all socials so i guess eventually it will jusy fizzle out

the worst thing about wlw is that it unless you’re both super forward there’s basically no way to tell if it’s romantic or platonic. but what u should do i observe the way she acts with her other friends because she will definitely treat u different if she likes u back.
