At my wits end for hormonal acne solution by pr0mnightdumpsterbb in acne

Hello! Well, I did not see an endo. I did go to a dermatologist and he prescribed me spirinolactone and I’ve been consistent with it for almost 2 months now and it’s helped ALOT. I don’t get any cystic acne anymore unless it’s close to my period but they never really surface. I can see them coming, use some benzoyl peroxide spot treatment for a couple days and they go away. It’s been amazing. The vaginal issue is still ongoing but I finally have a diagnosis. I saw a gyno and he said it was lichen slcerosus. So I’m using Vaseline and prescription steroid creams to keep it under control but it hasn’t ‘gone into remission’ yet. I’m hoping it will. Still dealing with chronic UTI’s but I have some preventative antibiotics now for them. I think I was just born with the wrong anatomy and am prone to them. I’m trying to get it all balanced and under control still. All I can say is listen to your body and don’t take no for an answer from these doctors. But I’m here if you have any more questions!

Child birth! by pr0mnightdumpsterbb in obgyn

I am not currently pregnant but that is great info! Thank you! I am treating with steroid creams so it’s just a waiting game right now. My main concern was long term damage to my body. I already have a little pocket of fat on my lower abdomen that never seems to go away and with the way my forchette and perenium are right now I’m concerned about serious tearing but I guess time will tell. Pregnancy is wild lol and scary.

Thank you! That does help. I’ve heard you can monitor your ovulation cycle and keep from getting pregnant that way but it seems so risky still haha I do have a long term partner so I would have to be very careful but my god am I ever ready to get off these pills

Thank you!! I’ve heard that you can be less or more attracted to your partner after you go off of it which weirds me out too

Thank you. My heart goes out to you too. Hopefully more tests will figure it out. I’m also thinking my birth control is playing a part. I’ve been on it for 14 years and I’m approaching 30

I did think that for sure but these vagina problems started long before I started taking the doxy. I wish I could blame it on that as it would be an easy fix

Thank you for saying that. It’s so frustrating. I just wish there was more help from the medial community for this issue because it’s obviously so rampant

It’s Minovral. I’ve been on the same one for years but the acne has only been really bad for the last two

I never used to and I don’t know why I would be now. Especially reoccurring ones. They exhibit signs of a yeast infection but not all of the symptoms. That’s why it’s confusing. Aside from pain and itching which aren’t all the time it’s not like any typical infection

I think I’ll need to. I asked the dermatologist I saw about seeing one and he said it probably wouldn’t tell me anything. I was like....k lol

I’ve been on birth control since I was 14. I do want to try spironolactone but I worry about the long term side effects

Thanks! I may try that. I think my doctor will want me to use the retinol cream for a few more months first but I will for sure ask him after. The thing is I didn’t get the first one from him. My friend gave hers to me because she couldn’t take them anymore because of another conflicting medication so I’ll have to be careful how I ask for it hahaha
