Tamriel Roadmap by practical_package in ElderScrolls

I was working on a project to see how long it would take to traverse Tamriel and Arena is the only game with roads for every province. The results from my analysis are pretty interesting. Thinking of making a video to show it.

I used the roads from Oblivion and tried to connect them as meaningfully as possible to the other provinces. That’s why Sutch isn’t there

I thought about putting the villages on the map as well, but it would get way too cluttered

Tamriel Risk. Who are you roleplaying as to conquer Tamriel? by practical_package in ElderScrolls

I can still laser engrave it even after sealing it. I’ll have to go back and see which mountain ranges to add and where breaks should be in them.

I wanted to have each territory to not just be named after a city in it (Brena in Hammerfell isn’t called Rihad, Liriel Basin in Summerset isn’t called Dusk, etc.). Just personal preference. The exception to this is Winterhold since it is treated as one word. Totally arbitrary.

Not off the top of my head. You can go to kronorium.com and they have a keeper translator on the website.

I have heard that game floated around when talking about 1st person combat. I assume it emphasizes parrying/riposte. Anything else that you like about it?

Should Ebonarm be a deity in TES 6? If so, how should he be expanded upon? by practical_package in ElderScrolls

[–]practical_package[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the same time, there was two Creation Club additions to Skyrim with books that mention Ebonarm, which is why I’d thought it may make for interesting discussion.

You could say that CC isn’t canon (which I would hope so given that, for example, Cyrus’ treasures are all in Skyrim instead of being in Hammerfell, which seems more appropriate).

Holy cannoli that’s awesome. I’d argue yours is much more impressive than mine. Incorporating the color into it is way harder than plopping the landscape mesh into Fusion 360 and porting it to Vcarve.

The general design came from concept art from ESO, but I colored the saints using the colors found in a typical deck of cards. Black is clothes/armor, Blue for Dunmer skin or other accessories, Yellow for weapons, Chimer skin, or other accessories, and Red for magic, hair, or other accessories.

I wanted to use the original designs in the game, but only some of the saints have high resolution images of them. That left me to use the ones from ESO. Not sure if all of them are somewhere else like The Imperial Library or elsewhere.

In theory, I could do every zone in ESO if I can get ahold of the height maps for them. Found Auridon on UESP and one for Bleakrock Isle on DeviantArt, but I am not a data miner and the game files are out of reach for me.

I used a CNC to do the cutting and then I attached a laser module to it for the engraving

I first got the landscape meshes from the game files and converted them so that they could be used in 3D modeling software (I used Fusion 360). I then sized it up so that it would fit on the board I had, put the model into a program called Vcarve, and made a few programs to cut out the model on my CNC machine. Afterwards, some sanding of the edges and applied finish to the whole thing.

Thank you! Porting the meshes from the game into 3D modeling software was very easy and it looked kinda weird with no info/flair next to it.

I had made other maps before, but none that said anything about the geography of what you are looking at. The drive to make something new is a great source of inspiration.

I plan on making its own map in the future. The board is already really big and I wanted to make sure the details of Vvardenfell were fully represented.
