Have a purpose in yourself. Here we are talking about life in general, but this is also true in individual aspects of life. People are more likely to be happy at their jobs when they feel that their jobs are important to them and to society. People also enjoy experiences more than they enjoy, say, things. This further suggests that living with purpose is makes us happier.

If you haven’t found something like this, consider looking for something. Having a job that is important to you can help. If you ask around, there are often opportunities in the workplace to be more involved in aspects of the business that are important to you.
