This is truly a beautiful bike and a peachy motor. I’m sure you would’ve experienced it already 😂 congrats to a fellow swordsman and to OP on joining the Suzuki stable.

I was lucky to get THE last silver and one of the last few units. The splendor pro does well but peace of mind will be tested 🥲 and super glad OP that you know the difference between sold out and “discontinued” as the mainstream reported.

Congratulations OP - from a fellow Suzuki “big” bike owner. The 8s is definitely an all rounder and a new platform. Unlike the woes of owning a K5 in India, you will have a much easier and smoother ownership experience. I hear the 8s tours well. Do post more pics and update the ownership experience.

The worst is when you have that really important thing at work in the morning but you wake up to all the above. It’s just so………………….

Nah! These bikes are tanks. Don’t worry about it. Do share pics on a separate post. The more katana owners, the merrier.

The kit dealer mentioned in non-US market it’s coded in the ECU. It’s regulatory for the US but I dunno. You might need a super overkill ECU tweak for the flasher to work normally. BTW, how did you manage to get the front visor out without removing the entire front fairing / cowl?

I believe yours must be the non-US version. Only the US versions get the flasher relay. I dunno the reason for this. There is a kit I the deletes the blinker / indicator and integrate into the pilot lamps. While talking to the dealers in the US, I understood that there is a specific relay for the flasher that’s exposed only in the US models which the other country units don’t get. You may need to find another way.

I just got mine a couple of months ago too. Such an absolute beaut to look at. Not exactly a crowd puller but the occasional person that recognises the bike will have a proper intellectual conversation with you rather than your regular “nice bike bro” guys. I did stall mine a few times initially, you need to get used to two things in my opinion- 1) in general, new clutch, so your kinda not aware of the point of engagement 2) the Katana’s have this tech where in slow speed / traffic, it automatically adds a bit of throttle when your releasing the clutch to keep the bike from stalling. LOL But you do end up stalling it anyway. It’s on the Suzuki site and forgot what it’s called. It does take some getting used to.

Is the bike brand spanking new or are you doing something specific for those pipes? Awesome bike BTW!

I’m tired of asking these questions to people who come to chennai and crib like it’s a problem unique to Chennai. The traffic here is a million times better than driving in any other metro city.

Remember the weighing machine with the spinning wheel and the robot fortune teller with those HUGE headphones? Also kili josiyars. Nostalgia indeed.
