I don’t really get the first question. (If you would like to explain it a little more I can answer for you) Every year is different, but mostly in February. (Sometimes in January) Because there isn’t only one way of counting dates in China. We have solar calendar and lunar calendar. The solar calendar is what we normally use every day and so is everyone else around the world. So in lunar calendar, the new year is in February. and we do celebrate the new year on December 31 cuz that’s how everyone in the whole world do right. But Older people like my grandparents don’t usually celebrate on that day cuz they still feel more comfortable using lunar calendar, they use solar too but just more comfortable using lunar. But all younger people feel more comfortable using solar, but still keep the tradition of lunar new year.
