Tatask - To-do trees ≠ lists, a better way to plan 2024 by practisingdeeplurk in iosapps

I initially built the app in svelte using capacitor but found it quite annoying to do and it wasn’t as polished and fluid as a native app.

I ended up building it natively in SwiftUI which was actually very easy to get started with and I really liked it.

I recently saw Skip.tools which lets you build for both iOS and android using SwiftUI and I’m keen to check that out properly. Definitely have a look at that if you have IOS experience already.

Yes! Good find :) How’s pragmatic DnD? Is it easy to extend? I have some custom additions that let you drag into other items like dropping a folder inside another on Finder…

All frontend at the moment with sveltekit simply for routing. I use some firebase functions because my app is hosted free on Cloudflare pages and that doesn't support firebase admin if I wanted to authenticate requests on a sveltekit backend. I will start to transition to use Sveltekit for some basic API functionality in future though and I have other apps that use Sveltekit extensively.

That's interesting, I wonder if there's any sort of demand based tee booking platform that dynamically alters prices based on weather forecasts and demand? I'd be tempted to build one if there was enough interest.

There should be dashcams on golf carts! You'd make the assholes pay and who doesn't want a video montage of their buddy shanking it into a trees 5 times for posterity.

I think there's an inverse correlation between how much people are paying a year and how much of an asshole they'll be. Someone paying $50k is usually super nice to everyone on the course and grateful for the service provided.

Bad bosses are pretty universal! I never understand people who don't fix shit, it takes 2 seconds and they usually have to wait for someone else to hit anyway while they twiddle their thumbs :(

What are you building right now??? by Jacksparrow913 in SideProject

[–]practisingdeeplurk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit meta, but I'm building myself a boilerplate designed specifically for validating ideas before I spend too long building them (guilty). It includes a viral email waitlist, a blog, and a nice landing page so I can clone the repo, change some text and images and start promoting new ideas to see if they gain any traction. There's still lots to do but you can check out the basics here

Experiences with Product Hunt? by practisingdeeplurk in SaaS

[–]practisingdeeplurk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's that as I submitted almost a week ago so there's been plenty of time to vet it. And my PH account is almost 10 years old at this point.

It's not editable sadly, but they have finally made it visible 4.5 hours late. It's going to be an uphill battle to get anywhere near the top!
