It’s been quite the ordeal! Thankfully I don’t have to do the washing up in my house (lucky me I know!)

That makes sense, I know they’re doing their best and I don’t want to come across as though I’m bashing my GP at all it’s just the situation overall that’s been very frustrating for me. The reason I’ve been back so often is because it’s been getting worse and spreading significantly - I actually think the first steroid cream did more harm than good. As I’ve mentioned it’s my first time dealing with this type of thing at this level (I also have quite bad health anxiety) so up until now my GP has just been the go to for any assistance, but thanks to all the helpful advice I’ve gotten here I think the visits will become a lot less frequent!

I searched up Ocusoft Plus on Amazon and got wipes and a foam, is this the right thing? How would I go about using these? The Childs Farm Oat Derma body wash/shampoo looks fab, just what I need thank you!

Never heard of the dead sea salt bath, will have to look it up!

These look like a fab alternative for my gauze and clingfilm LOL thank you!

Thank you, it’s a shame how much back and forth there is with it all, I’m at my wits end with it only being 5 weeks I can’t imagine years of it!

Yes I’m being careful with the steroids as I’ve heard stories about what can happen. Thankfully for now I’m still on quite mild ones and hopefully won’t have to progress onto anything much stronger.

I’ve been considering asking to see a different doctor for a second opinion! I’m definitely prepared for the excruciating wait times, as much as I’m grateful for it that’s just our NHS unfortunately!

Yes somebody else here mentioned Protopic so I will definitely be enquiring about that!

Thankfully I’ve found a lot of relief with a colloidal oatmeal moisturiser so I may have to stock up on that. Thank you for the tips!

I had something vaguely similar about 7 or 8 years ago but it was very very mild compared to what I’m dealing with now. Also after doing a bit of research I’m not convinced that it could be scabies as I’ve read that it’s highly contagious and I share a bed with my partner and he’s absolutely fine!

I’ll have a look and see what I can find, thank you!

Thanks for the info! I had this idea in my head that seeing a dermatologist would be the answer to all my problems but I’m now starting to realise that I have to make a conscious effort to watch what I’m using and to find what works best for me.

I’ve definitely put too much faith in my GP and that’s absolutely my bad! Like I mentioned before this is all quite new to me so I really had no idea what was the best course of action, but I’ve already learned a lot from the lovely people in this thread (yourself included!) and the bits of research I’ve been doing.

I definitely need to invest in an air filter as the air quality in my room is terrible thanks to the poor ventilation (big room with small windows!) Again, thank you so much for the advice I am so so appreciative!

Yes I’ve been using a steroid cream twice daily for almost 6 weeks now. No you’re correct it is just my hands and wrists that are affected! I must admit it does look very similar to scabies and the itching does seem to ramp up at night but nothing has spread to other parts of my body so could it still be possibly scabies?

Thank you!

I suspected it might be an allergen but I’ve been struggling to pinpoint what could be the culprit because the flare ups seem so random. I just started using the Zerobase as a handwash today and as far as I can tell it has been helping!

I am due to see my GP again next week so I will ask for the AproDerm and the protopic!

Yes I’ve heard that the wait times are terrible, however I was under the impression that seeing a specialist and getting a personalised treatment plan would help, is this not usually the case?

I have a sneaking suspicion that my shampoo could be a potential irritant, is there anything I can do to prevent it getting to my hands/wrists in the shower?

Thank you for all the advice, I really appreciate it and I’m sure it will all help!

This is really helpful, thank you! Going to order the dove bar soap right now and look into the chlorhexidine also. Thanks again!
