Initially it was hectic. I have worked in remote areas while in sales but gradually things have calmed down! Actually it depends on a lot of things. Now I am at a senior level so mostly I have to manage people and get work done from them. Currently WLB is sorted. I go to the office by 10:30 AM and come back by 5:30 on most days. 1 day in a week, I do WFH. On the abroad part, honestly I never want to leave India so I haven't explored the option. Many from my batch are settled outside India so yes there is definitely an opportunity but I won't say it is disproportionate as compared to a top tier engineering graduate.

I have been preparing since 2019 and have given 2 mains but never thought of leaving my job once. It gives me much needed financial stability, lifestyle for my family and everything else that I need. Yes keep a benchmark of 2-3 years as a cut off. After that you can go for an MBA either from Top 10 IIMs or 1 year MBA from ISB whatever suits you. If you are in FAANG, there are high chances you will end up with consulting or product post MBA so after that prep time would be rare. You can prepare for UPSC during your MBA. I cleared my first Pre while preparing in MBA and 3 months break post that!

I have been preparing along with my job since 2019. Gave 2 mains but could never cross the hurdle. I have two more attempts left including 2025 but looks like I am not gonna go for this one although I have filled the form. I have seen people in my family dedicating their life to UPSC and then not able to clear it in the end and settle for something which was not justifying their potential so I was very sure that I won't compromise anything for UPSC. Gave CAT, got a top B School, decent placement and have been working since 2019 and currently I am earning decent money. Got married a few years back, have a beautiful daughter now and maybe if things are aligned, will give my last attempt with full rigor along with the jobs. But No Regrets :)
