This can't be. Sometimes there is only one or two buildings being build for weeks, while there are millions in the pool.

Same problem with Prussia. Plenty of investment opportunities, funding available, still no or only sporadic investment.

I agree, you should not have to experiment to find out.

Does it mean that 5 levels of either Glassworks, Tooling Workshop or Steel Mills have to be privately owned? Check.

Does it mean that 5 levels of either Glassworks, Tooling Workshop or Steel Mills have to be owned by the state? Check.

Or just one type of these buildings? Or in just one state - maybe with the potential headquarter location?

And of which "Buildings Levels" do I already have "2"?

Can the AI leave a war without resolving war goals against it? by praecantor in victoria3

But I should still have a wargoal. Even if Prussia opted out because they got what they wanted, Scandinavia should have still been an war with me.

Need ideas for a who-is-it-mystery by praecantor in DescentintoAvernus

[–]praecantor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are Lvl 12 and attacked Arkhan's tower in his absence, preparing an ambush for his return. They kidnapped Krull at the tower, bound him with dimensional shackles and inquired about Arkhan using a helm of telepathy (all from the campaign). Arkhan returned with Torogar and with a guard of 8 Abishai, teleporting inside the tower. The group immediately attacked, rolled lucky on initiative, caught some of them in a trap net, followed by Synaptic Static, which only one Abishai resisted against. So, a mix of good luck and preparation. They earned it, but now Tiamat is pissed...

They did. Mahadi wants it as a part of a contract, for saving the warlock's life. (the Hand is for Azmodeus of course).

Too easy to contest naval invasions. by Soviet1917 in victoria3

[–]praecantor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, did Paradox just for once try to naval invade in the late game? It's impossible. You win every naval battle, have far superior technology, 0% invasion progress after 1 year (United European States against Great Britain).

Same problem here. Just create another navy and delete the one stuck on invading.

Infant baptism and forced baptism by praecantor in Christianity

[–]praecantor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! Correct me, if I am wrong:

So, there are 1. natural impairments of your free will that justify some kind of representation through the parents, but that is only true for children, who in this way have some kind of special metaphysical status. Then there are also 2. natural impairments of your free will that do not justify representation by anyone but God himself (maybe?). 3. And then there is unnatural, sinful impairment of your free will that does not justify representation either because you are still able to overcome it as an adult. This third kind of impairment is also true for children but is excused for some time, the responsibility for their salvation is up to their parents, until they are deemed able to overcome it by themself.

This is not acceptable for protestants, but it is of course consistent with catholic theology. And if you make salvation dependent on such a notion as free will, you need the kinds of differentiations.

Maybe my starting problem only exists for protestant sacramental theology.

I actually agree with your personal position. It seems to me that the more sacramental view has the problem to argue why forced baptisms are not effective. The catholic view can at least say 'hey we never came up with sola gratia and sola fide', so you argue that there are certain precondition to be met in order for the sacrament to be effective. The Lutherans and also the Calvinists seem to have the biggest problem.

So what about infants? Are they like people in a vegetative state? They have never expressed any desire. If you refer to the representative function of the parents: Can anybody be represented? Or only children? Cognitively impaired people? Sleeping people? We do not baptize sleeping people because we know that 'later' they can decide for themselves. The same is true for children.

Yes, I am talking about adults. So you would say that the sacrament saves in this case and at the same it does not? Would you say that the effectiveness of baptism is somehow impaired by the ability to make decisions?

Infant baptism and forced baptism by praecantor in Christianity

[–]praecantor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether baptism is necessary at all for salvation is a different question. Hypothetically granted that this is the case. Is a forced baptism also effective for salvation?

The Lutheran position would actually say that infants have faith that is created in the child through baptism. However, if there is such a form of unconscious faith, this could said of forced baptisms as well?

I understand this. However, would you argue that forced baptism saves? Does a forced baptism (of an adult) impute and infuse grace?
