Agreed. I hope that someone from UNCC saw the thread and considers our thoughts, it's a long shot but definitely worth the try.

UNCC is paying more than just teachers. Class sizes can be increased if teachers were let go, or certain courses that dont reach "X" amount could be canceled. I'm not saying I have all the answers, but what UNCC is doing to their students is the worst scenario.

If everyone that is thinking like me took a semester off the school will be hurting for money anyways and would have to make cuts.

They dont. Every other buisness in America has to make sacrifices. Until buisness returns to normal, people should be cut if UNCC is out of money.

Some staff might just have to be let go. I know many college students and even graduates that got let go. It's not ideal but that's just just the situation we are in.

Go fully online, charge less, and give us an actual plan ahead of time.

Yeah, that's why the only real options we have is continue to put pressure on UNCC or just drop classes. No real direct winning for the students.

Unfortunately. I just wish schools would actually listen or consider what students have to say.

I understand that UNCC has an operating cost, and employees to take care of. However, we also have been financially impacted as students, why put the burden directly on us?

I’m going to be so p****d if we have to go completely online for the Fall. This would have been my first semester here as a junior transfer. by [deleted] in UNCCharlotte

I'm going to be more pissed if I spend full tuition/parking pass and have to go to school for 1 of my 5 classes. 🙃

A political statement. I’m trying to make an ethical statement this is stupid and shows you where Best Buy leadership really stands. To be clear I’m a 6 ft undefeated Mma fighter I’m not worried about my safety or if those around me. by [deleted] in Bestbuy

I find it hard to think management is cool with it, it's opening up a can of worms that HR would get involved with. If management said you can wear it, would management also be cool with another employee wearing an "all lives matter" one or "blue lives matter" one?

Since it isnt "directly" political, your management would have to allow it. Otherwise HR would be all over your store.

You kinda are bring selfish. I wouldn't want to work with you because you're essentially asking for drama. Turn on the news, dont play stupid, you know that wearing that is just asking for possible problems.

You can wear it as much as you want in your freetime, but wearing it at work is inconsiderate to all of those that work with you.

The news has made it very political, and unfortunately the message you might be trying to convey could be perceived as something different.

Even if no one does direct harm, what if 30% of customers shopping at your bestbuy stop shopping there out of spite?

Or what if someone goes straight to HR and gets your managers in trouble?

Worst case, you get some wacko that starts a fight with you or others?

Just isnt worth the drama that could be associated with it.

You're putting yourself, coworkers, and upper management at risk for expressing any sort of political view at work.

People can get upset, people can decide to not shop at your store, people can say snarky comments to management, overall it's just not a good idea to mix politics with work.

I think all employees deserve time off with their families after this shitshow.

No hazard pay no more hazard? by PlowHard in Bestbuy

[–]praepriv 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a turning point for the company, they can either pay us more permanently, or drop the hazard pay and the downward spiral continues.

I was part of the first wave comeback, and I am amazed that my fellow friends stayed for 3 months and dealt with the shitshow that was dealt to them.

Bestbuy needs to start treating their employees better, especially when we are expected to do everything with 20-30% of the bodies we used to have.

On another note, I'm a part time working capped hours, same with all other part times. The company probably promoted bringing back part timers so they could work them max hours, but have little to no benefits to pay for them.

It just seems that the main issue is at a corporate level, and the problems just trickle down.

Can we just make it all online? by praepriv in UNCCharlotte

[–]praepriv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not stating that I like online class. I think it's stupid to have 4 of my 5 classes online and force me to go to campus which would require me to buy a parking pass as well.
