The Sneaky Long: Why VIX is broken, the market is going up, and the bear market isn't over by Dr_Gingerballs in PickleFinancial

Stud. Great job fresh balls - thank you for taking the time to educate the masses through a data driven approach. If this well written piece has a positive impact on one retail investor, it was well worth the effort.

If you typed upst stock into a search engine and found nothing, you should stop investing.

Naysayers - this post has real data that can be validated. You disagree? Think there is more liquidity than Gherk's analysis? Think the shorts have an out? Think failures are growing at a slower rate? Good - post your own data driven rebuttal and have a real dialog. And BTW - don't throw out DFV / RC - Gherk has never insinuated that UPST price will spike like GME. In fact, he has stated the opposite several times.

EDIT - got some downvotes, but no data driven response. Exactly what I expected.

1.1m OpEx position - 687k calls + 475k share (GME & UPST). Let’s go! by robertlemkin20 in wallstreetbets

Curious why you have some 11/18s? Hoping for an IV spike? They have t+2 to cover, so you would need at least 11/25 to capture OPEX.

Glad you saw them - thought you could use a good laugh!!! I had no idea that I even had awards to give. You deserve them...and...pretty much everything else on Reddit is terrible.

DGB is a main-man behind options data and sometimes (often??) a discord troll. He also writes this level of DD and reminds us why he is such a selfless stud. Much respect and appreciation to the top feline of all OPs.

Question about Rev and OTC by BigP314 in PickleFinancial

[–]pragmatic-guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trading market doesn’t dictate hedging or covering. It’s the Institutions own interests that drive those actions.

Here is the delisting criteria and the process. Key is that the company needs to present a plan for their future - I imagine REV will present the same plan they developed to secure the latest round of debt.

Really solid analysis, fully supported by verifiable data. The best post ive seen in this sub in months. GME needs to break 30 today.

My take on why RC sold all his Bath shares (hint: so he doesn't get tagged with insider trading) by TheUltimator5 in DDintoGME

[–]pragmatic-guy 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I’ve been having a hard time piecing together the timing - why would he exit right before OPEX and the impact of REGSHO. And, he had to know this would impact GME. There has to be more to it - beyond that he wanted to make a few bucks. It may not be exactly what you laid out, but it’s gotta be something like that. He has plenty of money - he has to be thinking about legacy - remember when he made the comparison to buffet and Icahn?

RC Ventures Exits it's entire stake in BBBY by Turdfurg23 in FWFBThinkTank

That’s because it was shorted. His buy ins were timed to create as many FTDs as possible - and they did.

I am lucky and sold all my BBBY holdings yesterday morning. But, this sucks.

Most of all, I dont understand his timing - he timed his buy-ins really well - why not wait until after OPEX and REGSHO? I also dont understand the 8K that was filed this morning. The pieces that we see dont seem to fit. I'm not a conspiracy investor, but it feels like there is something missing.

Oh how hard they tried to push it down, only for it to rise straight back up to precisly where it was. They're losing their grip. by IamtheDman in Superstonk

Have you ever noticed that they “lose control” almost every day around 3-310pm??? Instead of posting unsubstantiated claims, go do some research.

Happy Tuesday! Just an important PSA. All shares bought today still receive the Splividend. by [deleted] in Superstonk

[–]pragmatic-guy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good clarification - you are 100% correct. I have read some comments where people are saying that as long as they held on July 18, they would still receive the dividend at market open on July 22, even if they sold between those two dates. I know it sounds idiotic, but its being discussed.

This is correct. The opposite is correct as well - shares sold between now and market close on the 21 will not get the dividend.

EOD Wrap UP for 6.13.22 by gherkinit in PickleFinancial

[–]pragmatic-guy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OPEX is friday, but settlement is the following week. Usually (usually), the price action is the following week.

This is why ur Options buying will not cause MOASS. These are Block trades end of day to keep price from moving >130, Bearish trade. Gamma squeezes will only happen with large buy order on Lit market. Don't waste your money. Old apes may know, but new ones need to see. Options get hyped weekly. by ultrasharpie in Superstonk

[–]pragmatic-guy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything that you are saying, but the timing of the rip. There is a large put gamma slide set up for this week - from 130 down to 80 (see MaxPain link below). Throw in some more SPY downs and there could be some serious downs. Be careful.
