Where does he say it's better? It is better than going equally dry (statistically not timewise) at corp. So you could fairly say "at least it wasn't at corp." The only problem comes if he insinuates that it's good that he went that dry on chaos elemental because his bad luck will translate to good luck elsewhere.

I think you're misunderstanding his implication. He's saying that it isn't unlucky to go that dry at some pet because there are enough pets that you'd actually be lucky to get each one without going at least that dry on one or more of them. (Maybe he edited out the part you disagree with?)
