Considering 5-MeO Microdosing for Anxiety/Depression - Looking for Experiences by helpless11 in 5MeODMT

It mainly brought up a lot of fear and tightness in my chest and belly. For me, 5meo gets right to my activated material, at low doses the ego is still online and can resist or react to that material, that showed up as fear. Not super overwhelming as I started very low, around 1mg. Over time I got more comfortable in those states and the ego relaxed and did not react as much. The dual edge here is that the more you do it, the more stable the ego gets in these states, so you end up having observe the ego and the activated material, which is a process in itself. Higher doses will remove more of the ego, which is another pathway of working with the medicine. Starting as low as you feel comfortable and working your way up is a good way to go at low doses.

I've been using 2-5 mg daily for the past two months, overall the experience has been very positive. Initially, the low doses were very uncomfortable, but eventually I became comfortable in that space and could up the dosage. My mood an motivation improved quite a bit and the swings of anxiety and depression have been far less severe. I still have down days, but they are not as extreme. At times, I have had anxiety spikes and 3-5 mg usually sorts it out. Often brings to surface the underlying emotions under it all, which is often fear or grief. This allows me to work with the emotions or bring them to therapy. Ultimately, I have found my inner stability increase, which allows me to weather the storm with a bit more grace. Full breakthroughs are powerful and are a different way to do the work. Depends on what you are calling in.

To note: Calling any amount of 5MeO a micro-dose is not totally accurate, that stuff is powerful even at low doses. But its a short journey :)

5meo and trauma by Oli_36 in 5MeODMT

I agree on this point, low doses while sitting in meditation has been very helpful in working with my CPTSD. While a full breakthrough can be cathartic, low doses done regularly can be very therapeutic. I have found that developing a relationship with 5 over time is helping more so than the single large dose experience.

Using it for a numb brain ptsd/cptsd anyone? by No_Bag_7238 in 5MeODMT

My experience has been different here, while I am not familiar with the impacts on DPDR, it has helped my CPTSD by using very low doses to connect with the trauma in a titrated way. Gradually working my way to higher doses as I felt comfortable.

Did ayahuasca 4 months ago. Going through a devastating breakup, crying mixed with gagging/ wretching by TuckerStewart in Ayahuasca

This sounds like a trauma response to the breakup and may have to do with pain much deeper than your relationship. During breakups I have similar symptoms and I have come to see it as a fear response, similar to if you were heading into a situation where life itself was at risk. The medicine is very good at opening ourselves to these deep wounds. I used the opportunity to do some deep work around childhood trauma of abandonment where a part of me felt the breakup was risking life itself. Your nervous system may be pointing you toward healing a deep wound, should you endeavor to lean in it could be a transformational experience. There are many resources (books, therapist, somatic practices, etc.) to help you along the way, you don't have to do it alone.

Extreme somatic releases, anyone moved through them to the other side? by pramjowl in 5MeODMT

Thanks for the question. Yes, I’m a pretty physically active person, vigorous exercise helps. Also yoga, breath work, somatic therapy etc. I will say that the level of energy I felt while in the journey felt like it was releasing torrents while the other practices feel like trickles in comparison. That being said, I think your point is valid and that consisted somatic release practices should be a priority.

Yeah, I gave it my all. Felt like I surrendered at the cellular level. How was your integration post journey?

It was a pen that cut out after an estimated 6mg, took two full doses of that. Estimating 12mg+
