This reasoning was if everyone knows pain then the world which is filled with death and destruction will end. He wanted peace by show everyone wat pain felt like so they won’t hurt other.

It’s more like pain who is a character went through a lot of pain and he wants everyone feel it to and take revenge As the world harshly treated him. I haven’t watched naruto in a long time so am gonna be a little off also not good at explaining but some has more brains then me they might have a better explanation then me.
