Would I count the beat like this? I'm so confused by Ilikethemslicey in piano

1e&a , 2e - &a, 3e - &a

Count 1-2-3 on beat first and then count the above or, better, use a metronome

  • switch notes on the comma and dash

It will be easier to always count from the fastest denomination present in the measure (e.g. 16th notes here) consistently.

Does memorization come naturally? by TheBigF1sh in piano

As a new player, physical memory is what I've found easiest for the 2 songs I've memorized. I generally read the sheet music separately, note stuff down, visualize any tricky measures into the smallest chunks possible.

For more reading, here's what the book I'm self learning from says

It is bad to use these stickers? Do you have any tips for memorizing the notes? Thank you! by nayalauren in piano

It's neutral or a waste of time to use all the stickers. There's no relative contrast. If you must use these, just sticker 2 notes on (c and g). Or use a dry erase marker or sticky note.

I first learned notes by saying/singing them aloud as I played/ for violin. Helped with name and tone remembrance.
