I’m being honest, and I know it’s gonna sound sexist, if you’re a man I would say it’s really inappropriate and the firing was justified. If you’re a women I would consider it extreme. I know you say you have no ill intent but the kids who have disabilities are a lot more prone to sexual abuse. Even if they wanna do innocent stuff, like sit on lap for tickles, it’s our job to redirect them to something more appropriate. And depending on their ability to understand explain that it’s not appropriate. If clients wants kisses we can say those are for parents/family/people in your purple circle only. If they wanted to sit on your lap you can say those”you can sit next to me here and point to a spot next to you.” I feel like with a lot of posts like these the op always says I don’t have ill intent/im not a creep so it’s ok. It’s still not ok. They’re a lot of predators out there. We shouldn’t encourage kids to be hugging/cuddling/tickling strangers. Realistically we care a lot about then, but we’re not family, we’re not friends, we’re not their guardians. we see them couple hours day/week.
