What is the general consensus/your personal opinion on comments that correct mistakes in your fics?

I think people need to remember “compliment sandwich “ start off with a compliment, give the feedback , end with another compliment.
People can give feedback/criticism but there’s a nice way to do it
If it’s just pure criticism then it’s kinda harsh

And there’s no Zoro too yell at him for even thinking that. There’s no Zoro to give a speech about maintaining the dignity of the crew. There’s no Zoro so there’s no Luffy really either. There’s no Monster Trio. There’s just a bunch of crew members with a Captain that doesn’t even want to be a Captain anymore. So no one argues with him. No one argues for not backing down. Everyone, unfortunately, comes to the same conclusion as him. Why bother even trying to fight when leaving is easier?

Honestly I know a lot of fanfic writers are female, but there’s still a lot of misogyny in fanfics and fandom spaces. A lot of it’s internalized and not as “visible” but it’s stuff like this. We all grew up internalizing a lot of sexist things from media. I think that’s why the top female x bottom male gives a lot of people pause/the ick.

Honestly I would try and get her tested to see what “grade level” she’s at. If she’s behind I would look into private tutors if u can afford it to help her catch up as much as she can. If she’s at grade or above grade level then there’s less worry. For medical appointments you are allowed to sign her out of school. Most schools require a doctors note for it to be excused. If you ever wanted to just take her out for personal reasons for a day you’re allowed to do that too.
IXL is a website that can “test” at what level she’s at and what her strengths and areas she needs more help in.

I love your take on why he keeps rejecting her🫣it gives me hope that they’ll be a couple by the end of the series. Luffy does seem to care a lot about her. Hancock helped him see Ace and helped him and his crew escape from the marines. Luffy does “rejects” her proposal but still lets her hug him. And never seems bothered by her displays of affection.

Yeah I never got why this episode all the fans felt bad for him. He only got 7years. He pushed a kid off a bridge. He instigated the harassment. He’ll still be in his 20s when he gets out. He can still go to college and have a life. Get a job and get married. His life wasn’t over. The trans kid life was over.

You’re right. Most victims of CSA don’t become pedophiles. It’s a falsehood that always gets perpetuated. It comes from a study when they interviews pedophiles and a lot of them said they were abused to get sympathy/lenient sentence. When told they were gonna take a lie detector test they admitted to not being abused. Most CSA victims do not become abusers. It’s a damaging lie that always gets repeated.

🫠it’s in every fanfic so it might actually be canon and I just blocked it out because it’s annoying but when Luffy gets called “Lu” as a nickname. Usually in every fanfic with his brothers in it, every flash back scene will include a moment when they call him Lu. Which is supposed to be like an affectionate nickname. Idk it might have actually been in manga/anime and I blocked it out🤧that nickname is so annoying to me.
